T04Z fittings

Hello everyone,

I need some fittings for my FD T04Z build. I need the fittings for the turbo, oil feed and coolant fittings. I need the drain fitting so as to adapt a -8 or -10 AN line to run down to the block. I also need the banjo fitting for the oil supply for the turbo.

Does anyone know all of the sizes because I have a supplier.

Also, I want to connect a -8 or -10 AN fitting to the oil return on the block. Any ideas/pics on how to do this?

Let me know what you all have seen/experienced. Feel free to throw suggestions out there.

I would also be interested in knowing. I have a turblown td61x journal bearing which i believe takes same fittings as t04z? I dont know, havn't been able to get any info on it.

Need to organise fittings pretty soon, and i'm not familiar at all with AN sizes and hose fittings so have been putting it off.

sorry for thread jack

CHRA water fittings are M14 o-ring boss to -6, oil feed fitting is either a -4 to -4 or -4 to 1/8th npt. Oil feed to block is M14 o-ring boss to -4, Drain fittings along with all these fittings can be sourced at atpturbo.com I'd sell you mine but I need them for current orders.

On the TDX, unless Elliot has changed something recently it will be a standard Garrett CHRA so the same fittings should apply.

To4Z/R, TDX, etc use T series CHRA. These are different fittings than GT series( 14mm coolant for example vs 16mm coolant for T series). If its a T series journal bearing you should be using -12AN( 3/4) return line, for BB ( T or GT) use 5/8( 10an).

So.. just to confirm, the oil feed on a Turblown TDX is 1/8 NPT and the water fittings are M14 ORB yeah?
Any reason not to use aluminium fittings? as thats all i can find in these fittings

Finally got around to getting fittings for this Turblown turbo but I'm a bit unsure;
Got -6 supply (which was what i already had) and -10 return. Will those sizes be ok or will they cause problems?

Also, I ended up with NPT fittings on the coolant holes - they screw in half-way finger tight, but I remembered you guys saying it was a metric ORB fit. Is it definitely Metric ORB?

Dash 6 feed is too big for Garrett based turbochargers , only on Bw can you get away with that size . You will probably want to restrict down to .100" at turbo.

Garrett water cooled journal bearing housings use a strange size . Its not metric straight cut, but 16mm x 1.25 with a crush washer does work fine, so does the npt you have . Just tighten it down . I bet they are bspt.

Definitely going to want a restrictor on that feed with the Garrett turbo.

Even being journal bearing?
So if i ran say, -3 feed (or 2.5mm restrictor) and -10 return that would be ok?

I can take all that stuff back there and swap it, and see if they've got metric fittings for the water holes.

Is it better to put the oil feed restricter at the turbo or at the block?

At the turbo. They have fittings specific for that.

Any reason to put it at one end or the other of the feed line?

If you put it on the block side you have an entire hose of low pressure oil flow that can potentially provide uneven oil feed to the turbo. Its better to have the restrictor on the turbo. At least thats the only reason I can think of off the top of my head.
