I recently aquired a brand new TS04, ball bearing with a .70A/R tang/divided, P trim exhaust and a used 1.15 tang/divided P trim housing (it was cheap!). I'm looking for >400 RWHP. This is for a daily driven street car and I was origionally looking for a 60-1 or 62-1. I'm looking for good boost across the band and think the T04s may spool significantly later than either of the 60 series turbos. Is this true? I was considering swapping out the compressor for a 62-1 to get more "streetable" power (assuming you consider 400HP streetable). What could I expect to loose/ gain from this swap? Any opinions/experience to compare these would be greatly appreciated.
88 Anniversary with '91 heavy street ported motor and then some, intake, RE Amemiya exhaust, FMIC, fuel, etc. Haltech on the way.
thanks

Oops. I forgot to correct my error. It is a Turbonetics TS04. 4" inlet. I figured the TS04 would make more power, but if I could get a 62-1 to make *slightly* less power over a larger RPM band I think that would be better for street. Also, since this is a street car I'm thinking that boost needs to be kept under 20psi. Is this valid? Can anyone recomend a boost ceiling on pump gas?15psi?20psi? This does have the 9.0/1 compression rotors.Basically I just don't want a turbo that doesn't build (good) boost until 5k or 6KRPM, assuming that's possible at this power level. If the TS04 will build full boost (whatever that is on 93oct) by, say, 4KRPM then I'd be happy. I'm assuming the ball bearing should help out with this.
thanks

The 60-1/62-1 is more efficient at lower boost (15psi or under).  The T04S04 would make better power (i.e. more efficient) at higher boost.  If you're going to keep it under 20psi, I'd recommend the 60-1.  If you're for race power and more boost, the T04S04 is your ticket.
