CarTech Turbo Kit (With Weber)

Hey guys,

Does anybody have more info on this kit? I've had it on my 7 since I got it but I have never really found info on it other than it was supposed to produce about 260hp.

Anybody else got more specs? Looks like the turbo is a Garrett T04 .68 a/r if I'm reading it down there properly.

Yes I do search

I didn't get the Cartech website to pop up, not sure why.

That thread's pictures were gone and it was about the EEF version for the GSLSE. Notice I said "With Weber".

Thanks for the website..

here is all i know, straight from 1990.

twin IDA intake, they aren't really specific about the rest, but they are claiming 450hp@12psi@7000rpm, so it must be a pretty big turbo.

Thanks for the pics guys! They're really cool but unfortunately they don't look like mine.

Here's a pic of my set up. I have a single Weber vs the dual in j9's picture and mine is blow through rather than draw through like in Kansas'.

i think i saw an earlier iteration of that car in Road & Track. it was a sidebar to the main article which was actually about RB's California Roadster. if i recall, the whole event was one of their post-1987 World's Fastest articles. anyway, i remember the paint and i remember them talking about the fact that he had used a REPU ribcase tranny because of the torque. also, it was the first time i learned you could use a stripped carburetor as an EFI throttle.

I too have a Cartech Single weber kit. It originally came with a 40 IDF, but I later got my hands on a custom 44 or 48 IDF turbo kit and I swapped out the turbos before selling the custom kit.

My kit has sitting on my shelf for about 15 years. Yeah, one of these days, I'll get off my butt and do something with it :-)
