T04S HP capabilities?
hey guys, im starting to look into single turbo set-ups and am lookign for something that is fast spooling but also capable of ~500hp i know the T04S spools quite quickly but is it capable of this kind of horsepower? or am i going to have to look into the T78/88?
thanks

most people are gonna tell you to do a search but from what i've heard they can make a over 430rwhp at 15psi but im sure they are capable of more at more boost. if you dont mind the lag, you can go with a t78, t51 ect..and make some big numbers. it all depends on what youre looking to use your car for. the to4s and the gt35/40 is highly streeable i hear.

yea i have my t04s set at .9 bar (13.2psi) and i have about 380ish. exelent turbo, i personaly dont like 1st gear. i dont know what it is but i always get walked on by 1/2 car in first, but i catch and pass in 2nd with no problem. T04S is a great decision.

I am running 1.15 bar and not much can catch me. First gear sucks. I think it takes about 2 seconds for me to go from idle to 8k but it runs out way to quick. When I get in second I run away. Third gear is simply crazy. I highly recommend it but you need the supporting mods.

yea 1st gear is soooo short
But I think it has to do with our gear ratios
unless you want a slow spooling turbo
I rode in my friends Rex with a PT67 Turbo on it
and same thing 1st gear is real short

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Mean Machine, I did 472rwhp in complete street trim (fuel, exhaust, air cleaner) with this turbo on 19.9psi, it is an easy 500rwhp turbo if you pump up the boost etc.
If you search you will find my dyno sheet and exact specs.

If your engine is ported very heavily and you run a air to water IC or custom intake (higher flowing manifold) IE lot more CFM for a given pressure ratio then you can run 20+ psi easily !
My engine has HUGE ports, very big exhaust housing big header, water injection and big FMIC, flowed TB, ported intake manifold etc etc and I ran 20+ psi witht he compressor being fairly efficient (did not fall on its face at all).
In 99% of 13B's on the road 25psi will be reliable and not over speeding the turbo and "beating up" the intake air (over heating it), it will be high but not dangerous.
This turbo will easily give you 600+bhp @ the engine (500rwhp) when run at high boost ! MOST 13B's dont acheive enough flow to (needs to be heavily moded) warrant a bigger turbo than this for the 450 to 500rwhp range, GREAT TURBO for spool, cost (initial and rebuild), and power.
