T04S ball bearing
Lots of people are switching to the newage ball bearing turbo's Garrett is putting on the marktet (being GT35R and others)
Last Wednesday I visited German's IAA Frankfurt motorshow for work purposes and gt the chance to pass by Honeywell(Garrett's) booth.
they had a T04S ball bearing turbo displayed (used in the Toyota Celica Pikes Peak car around 1997?)
It was a cut through and all parts were visible (read ball bearing set up)
Isn't Garrett selling them in this configuration or are the newer turbo's better with regards of A/R ratios and inducer/exducer wheels and thus more interesting for the low rpm power freaks nowadays?

I know but I was asking about the GT35R and the tech guy at the show was really annoyed with my tech questions about it. He abviously didn't know sh*t about it. Whent I went by the displayed items later I found the T04S BB and didn't go back for it.

Is that what the display said?
At SEMA (U.S.), Garrett has been bringing out their "TA45 ball-bearing" cut-away since 1996!
When you ask the idiot sales people manning the booths, they have no idea what it is.
Then, come to find out, there is no such thing... :P

the info board next to the turbo said it was a T04S ball bearing turbo for the Toyota Celica Pikes Peak car in 1997. I guess it might be custom made for that car but it shows the housing was able to take ball bearings nevertheless
