Thoughts on wrapping exhaust header
My turbo is off so I thought it would be a good time to wrap that ol' exhaust header. I've wanted to do this mainly because it's such a high heat source very close to the lower intake mani. I've got hood vents so under hood temps are not an issue. As I was wrapping the waste gate runner, it occurred to me that under boost the header glows cherry red and has to support the 25lb weight of the turbo. I wondered is it a good idea to do this. If I wrap it, in theroy, it would get hotter and stay hotter longer, all the while having to support the weight of the turbo on shitty, bumpy Michigan roads. I decided I will leave the WG runner wrapped, since it doesn't support that much weight, and also doesn't face the fury that the main runners do, and also is the closest of the three runners to the intake. Am I worried about nothing? Can I go ahead and wrap the other two pipes or should I not? Any thoughts much appreciated!
