T04b-V trim question

A friend of mine is willing to give me a freshly rebuilt t04b v-trim turbo with a .84 a/r divided hot side with a clipped p-trim turbine wheel. I am looking to get about 350-400 rwhp with a quick spool time. Anyone have experience with this combo or have any ideas about how well it will flow? Thanks a lot.

that turbo will work fine for under 400whp. the .84 divided will have good response too.

the turbo is good for around 350whp on stock ports on 15psi.

Why did he get it clipped? IMHO it's kind of pointless to get a divided housing for spool and then clip the turbine wheel to make it lag more.

I'm not sure why he got it clipped. I think it was clipped when he got it. It originally had a 1.15 a/r divided turbine housing on it but then we found the .84 and figured it would give better spool and the clipped wheel would give better flow up top.

arghx: where in Raleigh are you?

Why wouldn't he do something simple like put a 1.00 A/R divided instead of the 0.84 if worried about the top end? Does he suffer from head fire or something ?

He wasn't planning on using it for a 7. He just had a spare turbo sitting around that never got used and I figured it would work for what I wanted. I don't think he chose to have the wheel clipped. It originally had a 1.15 a/r divided housing, but I wanted faster spool so we got the .84.
