T-78 Owners need some help and input

I'm about to buy a Greddy T-78 turbo and I have a few questions. I am currently running a custom manifold (not a cheap Ebay one) and my turbo sits really high (see picture). I can already tell I'm not going to be able to use my current manifold with this bigger turbo. Also from what I've heard you can't use an HKS manifold on a T-78 do to the size of the turbo and the design of the manifold, just doesn't fit between the firewall etc... I'm wondering what manifold can I use? I don't want to cough up $1200 on a custom manifold from a local guy here that makes them. My other question is in regards to the waste gate. I am currently running a 38mm TiAL wg. Do I have to upgrade it, get a bigger one? I know with most kits they use 40+mm waste gates. I don't plan on running anything less then 10psi or more then 16psi. Do I need to get a bigger wg, what can I do about my manifold? Thanks for your help.

Mike thanks for the pics. I have another local guy that may be able to cut me a deal on a manifold. I was looking at your pics, but I'm not too wild about the wg placement. We have plenty of heat up there by the UIM and LIM, I just don't like the tought of having the wg up there too. I looks like it would be a tight fit with the dp too.

just use an ssautochrome manifold. they started putting either 3/8 or 1/2" flanges on them.

i dont' know the physical size of the 78 housing, but my buddy fit a t66 in there without any trouble. the compressor was about 1/2" away from the strut tower. if the compressor housing is much bigger than the 66, forget it, but there's an option if it's similar in size.

Yeah, but the problem is not just the flanges on those cheap manifolds. The problem is also that they also use thin pipes and the welds are really crappy. I'm not risking buying a cheap manifold and pay some more to have it fixed.

if it can stand up to my abuse with a bridgeport, it can probably take whatever you're gonna dish out. the welds aren't bad, and the pipes are just as thick as most of the expensive ones.

they basically copied a really expensive manifold, then had it mass-mfg. over in china-or wherever. so chinamen don't know how to weld as well as japs or mexicans?
