T-61 Question

I am finishing up my conversion to a T-61 and am about to run the oil lines in and out of the turbo. The outlet I am just going to make as big and short as possible, but I have read about a restrictor needed for the inlet. This is not a kit so I am doing my own plumbing, welding etc. Do I need a restrictor for the oil inlet?
I was also wondering if the water cooling is something that is done on all these singles? I have heard of guys running just oil and no water. Is this wise???? I want to do it right the first time so help me if you can.
As a side note, I happen to have eliminated EVERY wire and item not essential (A/C is essential in Florida) to the cars performance when doing my Haltech. I think I have the most done the most involved Haltech install in history. I even removed the dash to eliminate all the ABS and air bag crap. I no longer have ABS, air bag, power steering, Stereo, pop up headlights (C-West), solenoid valves, Oil metering pump, etc. If it was a wire that no longer performed a function it was stripped from the harness (All Harnesses were removed).
I am shooting for as little weight as possible while retaining a properly functioning A/C. I am making a carbon fiber rear hatch with lexan in place of glass (should weigh 5-7 pounds). I also was considering a carbo dash but it was way too complex.

Could some one answer the question about the oil line restrictor?

I don't know of any restictor needed. I just finished my XST04E kit and they have us plumb the oil feed line right out of the stock line with a steel braided line and I did not see anything that looked like a restrictor. For the outlet they just have you drain into the front return port and block off the rear return port on the rear of the block.
The coolant lines are even easier. Just run them from the stock locations.
I am assuming this is a 3rd gen.
If you ever want to get rid of that turbo/manifold/wastegate, (you are the guy I sold that to right?) I will trade you for my XS kit... After installing this kit I could see how easy it really is and how much nicer that turbo I had was!

I'm happy with the turbo and wastegate you sold me. I am setting it all up now. I'll be welding the wastegate flange onto the manifold as soon as I can drop the motor in one time and see how the ehaust will run. The motor is freshly rebuilt and Pettit ported. Lots of shiny parts and a new ACT clutch and aluminum flywheel.
The car has gotten a little out of control! I am doing a carbon fiber hatch, shaved door handles, new oaint including the engine bay, no abs. aftermarket steering wheel. seats, carbon interior, and on and on. I am having a blast tearing it apart and planning the reassembly. I did a mustang 5.0 once but not to this extreme. It's insane but fun. Most people just don't think it will ever go back together, but once you've done one car you know you can do the next one better.
The turbo oil restrictor was just something I read about on here a long time ago. I just wanted to check cause some one said the motor put out too much oil PSI for the turbo.

I used a 4AN line in my TO4S install, and I had to make a restrictor because oil was leaking out of every seal and joint on the turbo. I used a 7/32" hole in my restrictor and it works fine. It's possible that the XS kit has the restrictor in the oil line, or already in the turbo.

Maybe I'll give turbonetics a call and check out what they know?

I doubt you need a restrictor if you are plumbing from the stock hard line. It has a fairly small id compared to a -4 AN line. If using a -4, I would suggest the restrictor.
