SX Pump cavitating

I have installed a brand new SX pump and it's making a very weird noise (like bubbles in the line or difficulties pulling). I have a filter right before the pump. and a -10 line about 12" long to a sump tank. Anyone sees what's wrong here? The pump was replaced thinking it was defective but the new still doeas the same thing. I also flow tested the pump with a bucket of gas and flows fine without making the loud noise. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Angel

Is it located at the same level as the sump outlet. We found that if we put pumps above the sump pickup and depending on gas level in tank,
they cavitate and we also lost one motor due to that.

You may have to put the filter after the pump. A lot of pumps cant really pull hard but the can push. This is why u see the filter after the pump on most stock cars. yes there a screen but thats only for big stuff just try movining the filter.

At least get Your sump at the same level as the pump. My pump is sitting about 1 cm lower then the sump. This leaves You with not much clearance under the car but will save Your motor. Make sure the tank is at least 1/2 full to create some head pressure.

For Your pump You need a large 10 micron pre filter that was made for the SX pump. You also will need another filter after the pump (100) micron). You probably know this as it come with the install instructions. These pumps sound way different then the stock.

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and You will have Your answer.
