Started fitting my A-Spec kit! Pics Inside

Well I got what I feel was a good deal on this used A-Spec GT35R turbo kit. It was missing the oil supply and had rubber cooling and oil return hoses so I decided to beef those u a bit. I also started on the fuel system. I decided to go with 850 primary and 1300 secondary injectors as I didn’t want to run resistors on the low impedance 1680 injectors. I am only shooting for about 400hp for now anyway. I stripped down the wire harness to remove the emissions stuff and rats nest. I am leaving the Waste gate and Pre control solenoids to try and have the PFC control my boost. The motor I rebuilt, Street Port with pineapple templates, surfaced and re-nitrided irons, all new OEM seals except for RA Super Seals. It I also installed an Aluminum Flywheel and Spec stage 2 clutch along with a new OEM clutch Fork and TOB. I still need to figure out how I want to run the heater core line which needed to be removed in order to install the kit. Here are some pictures of where I am at so far. Let me know what you think.

Nice, I like all the s/s lines

Just be careful with them, make sure you've flushed them all of debris. I've seen people get extremely clogged fuel filters from making their own fuel lines and all the small pieces of black rubber from the hose ends gets into the system.

Where in NJ are you located?

Goodfella, I am in Brick NJ. I have been wanting to make it up to your shop to meet some people in the community. I have had the car for a little over a year now. I bought it with a bad motor and have been picking at it slowly due to my wedding, house renovations, and now my first kid on the way. I hope to have it running soon. There is not much left. I have just been taking it slow as I learn everything. The car has a tank full of old fuel that I was going to pump through the rails to flush everything. Then I was going to put some fresh premix and try to fire it up. I have a new fuel filter to swap in as well once I have it running for a bit. What did you do for the hose going back to the heater core? Does the hard pipe fit with the 500R kit?

I presume you saw my thread about using the wastegate solenoid to control boost? I posted a ton of information about it but I don't think anyone else has tried it yet. I probably posted so much about it that people thought it was more complicated than it really is.

then enable sequential turbo control, change the turbo transition settings in the datalogit and you're golden. right now with a 13psi spring i've got boost set to 1.00 kg/cm^2 with a duty of 48. It's not as adjustable as an AVC-R but those settings result in 16psi all day long with an overboost fuel cut a little over 17psi. With a single turbo the "boost" setting is sort of like the START BOOST in the Profec Spec II (or "spring" in the AEM Tru boost). The "duty" is a lot like "SET" , and the PFC figures out the "GAIN" for you automatically. After you change the turbo transition settings it just takes some fiddling with the Commander to get the boost right.

arghx, I did see your post and that is why I am keeping those solenoids. For some reason though I thought you were using both solenoids.

Hey man, I'm right next to you in Lakewood. You got DJKs .82 T3 kit right? That's awesome! That's the kit I eventually want to get.

Small world :-) I work for UPS on Vassar ave. not too far from airport rd. I've had my FD for 9 years now and only sparingly have seen any in this area. And this was a few years ago. Some kid has a Montego Blue in Jackson now, whom I happened to drive next to one time I was coming back from Lakewood DMV, but he just waved nonchalantly and kept going. My buddy from Plainsboro is sometimes in the area on the weekends. He has a red R2 with black wheels and EVO-R headlights. Send me a PM if you ever want to meet up. Would like to see your build up as well, being I plan on going with the same turbo soon.

Around 500rwhp on a large ported motor at 22-24psi with everything ideal.
