^ cool, thanks for that link. So now we know A-Spec 500R = HKS T04Z @ 20lbs/500rwhp but the 500R will reach full boost approximately 500rpm's sooner and even possibly 1k rpm sooner. A-Spec kit is not as DIY friendly as HKS, nor is it as close to being CARB friendly as the HKS kit, but it is about 40% < $ assuming no custom fabrication is needed. I will post my dyno next month (to show what hp loss if any) with my short runner manifold.

Now i've seen the T04Z do 450rwhp @ 16lbs on JDM sites but I haven't found one @ 20lbs.
Too bad they didnt show a actual dyno sheet, correction factors, boost and a/f curves as well, and the other one, it made full 19 lbs boost at around 4300 rpms but wondering why they only pulled to 6700 rpm's, and no actual boost curve or a/r ratio's. Both cars had to have been on pump+methanol/water injection or race gas though.

Um, you are aware that broken09 made 503 rwhp at 20 psi on the 500R over a year ago right? I'm assuming this is the second guy to do it? I'll have to pick up that mag.

Still going to be interesting w/ the 4" exhaust. (Power and response). G

Didn't Broken9 have 4" exhaust, ignition amps, 93oct and whatnot to acheive 500rwhp?

I beleive the Turbomag 500R had 3" Greddy but no mention of larger 4" DP or MP but those are a possibilty, allthough doesn't florida have 93oct?. I don't remember a mention of water injection or race gas.

I think the T04Z in the link also was running 3" exhaust and was in CA. It lists water injection in his thread. No mention of race gas for dyno.

I was also wondering why that stopped at 7k instead of 7500 or 8k.

Yes FL. has 93. Even 100 unleaded in most larger populated areas. Sounds like a good write up. G

I seriously doubt they were running on Pump gas alone at 20 lbs of boost or making 500 whp on pump alone.

Yes 20 lbs. on 93 would need some help.

you can run 20psi on pump gas (93) it all depends on how the car is set-up and tuned. If your car is set-up properly through all aspects, it should not be a problem. I have ran 20psi on pump for years.

see ya

You can, pull timing out, overfuel it to keep it cool, but boost is irrevelant, its all in the power you make with the fueling octane and displacement you are dealing with.
20 lbs on pump vs 20 lbs on race gas is a whole other issue, you aren;t going to make near the same power with pump vs race at the same given boost level.
And why risk it anyway.

Although you may doubt it my car made 503 on 93 and no water or methanol. I've been thinking about adding WI this summer but as of yet I have yet to do it.
I do however have the full 4" exhaust as stated.

Speaking of 20 psi. Can you get away w/ it on 100 octane? Or is timing going to have to adjusted.

yes you can run that on 100 octane. Timing is all dependent on your setup, management, and tuner. Also, your a/f ratio is dependent on your setup and specific gravity of the fuel you are using.

I still do, but no worries. I have 4" exhaust as well, glad its not my daily driver, but at least my wastegate is plumbed back in the exhaust, that would really be loud.
