The only TO4's listed at the Turbonetics site are TO4B, TO4B Super and TO4E. They do list different compressor wheels (S-3, T-5, V-1, H-3), (Super S”, “Super V”, “Super H”) and different compressor housings such as the Hi-Fi.
I don't know where all those other letters you asked about come from. Maybe the company selling them named them that way after making some modifications.
The turbine housing can be a "Tang" and be divided or undivided. My understanding is that the divided is better but, needs to be mated with a divided manifold to get the benefit. The divided manifold is about $550 versus about $300 for an undivided.
I have a T-66 with undivided .96 a/r p-trim turbine housing. I'm very happy with it but, it does have lag when driving normally on the street.
Lots of people here seem to be very happy with their T-78 setup but, that's about the same size as my T-66 and probably has some lag. I think you should look into maybe a TO4E "60" or smaller to reduce lag.
