Question How to put together your own "kit" ???

How hard is it to put together your own single turbo system? Can you save money that way? Like I want to get an XS Engineering T04S, a cast manifold, Tial or HKS or whatever wastegate, various fastners, plumbing, etc. (all available from XS) Sounds like it would be cheaper and you can get EXACTLY the features you want! Any ideas? Thanks!

Not to mention, if you want the XS kit (from your other post), you can't get much better than $2900 for all the stuff it comes with (intake pipe & filter, IC pipe, all the lines and fasteners, HKS wastegate, Apex BOV, heat shielding, etc.). Go to their website, to see what I mean. What would you do differently?

I beg to differ, if you have a good source you can get it cheaper. I got my T-76(bigger than a t-88 from greddy) for around 2300. I got the manifold, wastegate, turbo, oil hoses, downpipe and gaskests and fittings for that.

I have talked with people that have done their own kit and yes they saved a couple hundred bucks, but they said its more trouble than its worth in the end.
The manifold I have will work on the 3rd gen, and you are probably right but custom is alway better. If they made a big turbo kit for the FC I would have bought it. Preferably from www.rx7store.net

In the US maybe that is a problem, in NZ or Aussie it certainly isn't, nearly all exhuast shops or engineering workshops can undertake such tasks with ease

Cool

Jason, why are your prices for the XS kit cheaper than what XS themselves sell it? Do you keep them in stock? I love your prices! Can you get them to make me a kit w/ the T04S instead of the T04E?

The reason I want to do my own kit is because I want a T04S turbo instead of the T04E XS uses in their kit. Also, I know it sounds stupid, but I want the turbo-out pipe polished, no black. I plan on doing a few shows each season and everything under my hood is gonna be polished
