Some good info on Injector Dynamics ID 725 1000 2000 etc

For those using ID injectors. I know a lot of us set base fuel in the 40-45 range. A brief conversation with tech support from Injector Dynamics and I learned that the ID2000 does not atomize well at 40 psi. 43.5 was the minimum they can function at. The guy I exchanged emails with said the injectors will atomize much better at higher psi. He recommended 50 psi base fuel pressure for my application.

What stemmed this conversation is because I found lag vs volt w/flow for 40psi for the 725s, but could only find it for 43.5 for the 2000s. Chuck W had talked me into running an even # fuel pressure due to the ease of watching boost / fuel pressure gauges at a glance to make sure fuel pressure under boost is where it should be.

Figured I would share the knowledge with the community. Might as well get the most out of our high dollar fuel systems.

I wonder how my single denso fuel pump will perform at the higher PSI?

Don't run higher pressures on the Denso, switch to the newer pumps. You'll have issues.

by the time the secondaries kicked in wouldn't your fuel pressure be well over 43psi though? I just got a set of 1000 and 2000 and i was just thinking about this.

The only fuel pressure that matters is your base pressure since that is the pressure difference the fuel will see as long as you have a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator.

I'll be running a denso supra pump... Are you thinking I should be running a different pump and set a high base fuel pressure or say fark it and run 45 base with the denso? Money isn't something i like to waste but if a new pump is what the Wird recommends i think i just might.

Just run it at 40 base if you don't want to change the pump, it'll be fine. The Supra pumps do not like running at high pressure for long.

A Bosch 044 would be the way to go for higher fuel pressure.

Thanks for sharing that info.
You didn't mention what boost level you're running, but the Walbro 4xx series "twin turbine" pumps flow enough for 750hp using gasoline. Best value pump out there for high pressure flow.
