So, since its changing anyways: My recent experience with E10 Gasoline

Hello people. I have been reading the e85 threads for a while and noticing some very good results from the stuff. I live in Logan Utah, most of the stations except for 1 that I know of are still selling regular gas. I went yesterday to try the E10 station out and see what was going to happen.
Basically I had been avoiding that station because my only prior experience left the car running lean and otherwise anemic. No detonation, just sluggish.
Anyways, I ended up adding a fair bit of fuel to my map, and also added a couple of degrees of timing as the boost transitioned to positive pressure. Honestly, I can feel a difference. It runs smoother, and has what feels like more power.
Honestly, I figured it would be a good topic for discussion because there seems to be a lot of misconceptions about ethanol in general. Anyone else care to share some experiences with E10 or other mixtures that are becoming common at the pump.

Truth be told, as soon as more e85 stations are around utah, I am changing my setup and adding another set of bosch 1680's and another Denso supra pump dedicated to the secondary rail

And please, this isn't meant to start a fight, just to give more info to the less informed. (I was one of them for a while)

Wait, doesn't all gas contain 10% ethanol? I think the feds say that all gas needs to contain atleast 5.9% ethanol.

That's what I thought. Most(probably all) of the pumps in IL have had "May contain up to 10% ethanol" (E10) stickers for a couple years now.

This station has a big yellow sticker that says 10% ethanol. Only station in town, and it made a big difference on how lean the car ran. No pumps here have those stickers except this one. Trust me I check. I know which stations suck ***** and which ones i prefer to get gas from.

I also had to add fuel to my startup map as well.
So basically what I get so far is that people don't know if they have e10 or regular gas lol.

We have a few stations here that advertise 100% gasoline, no ethanol.

I assume that all the rest have ~10% ethanol.

I would be willing to bet that most gas has some ethanol, but not as much as e10. I mean, it was a fair bit of fuel I had to add to my map to get it to where it was with every other station's gas. Even if every station has some ethanol in the gas, I believe it to be more like 2% or so, not e10.

E10 will run a little over 3% leaner than normal gas.
