so much lag, is it normal for this turbo? (m24 garrett)
heres the description of it
"This turbo untilizes the stock series 4 (87-88) turbine housing with a ported wastegate (28.6mm) and the turbine wheel is now 63.5mm. A Garrett core that does not have any coolant lines, its just oil cooled. The Garrett compressor housing is much bigger that the stock the writing on it says A/R .60 M24 B.O. Garrett and the compressor wheel 44.45mm and its all balanced and blue printed. I will also include a used series 4 exhaust manifold that is mildly ported and the flapper door has been removed for maximum exhaust flow. The wastegate accuator is also included. The Compressor housing, wheel, core, internals, and turbine wheel are new but the turbine housing and exhaust manifold are used but in great condition without any cracks."
im running 3 inch RB downpipe, resonator to n1
dual -6an lines ,aeromotive fpr, walbro 255
rtek 1.8, safc, plx wideband/egt
im running 6 lbs and the car kickms really hard at 5000 rpm
im running a vmount
whats the efficiency range of this turbo?

you say it kicks in hard at 5k, is that because thats when it finally creates full boost? if its making 6psi the whole time (which it should, 6 psi is nothing) its probably not the turbo's fault.

Yeah what he said above, the ported out flapper is probably getting overpowered. That's why you normally see the better built hybrids with adjustable/shorter wastegate arms to put more tension on the internal wastegate spring. You could also put a spring on the flapper arm.

Sure its not 54.75mm compressor inducer? AKA v-trim (60-trim 70mm wheel). They spool slightly slower than the stock Mazda front wheel but give a LOAD more top end. Like an extra 150HP.
A baby T04 is probably going to feel better than a high flow at all times once you consider.
#1 The option to put massive preload on your wastegate piston
#2 The quality of manifold possible using a T4 and 40-50mm ID piping
#3 Options for bigger turbine housings to alleviate back pressure in top end.
