Single turbo+keep the airpump?

Hey all,
I've heard passing rumors about an HKS single turbo kit that lets you keep the airpump and is able to pass a sniffer test. Someone confirm or deny this for me, and also if it exists, would it pass a CA sniffer test?

Ok, i guess what I'm really getting at here is this: if I were to go single turbo and keep the airpump and tune for emissions, is it possible to pass emissions in CA? Obviously the car fails the visual, but that doesn't stop anyone from putting non approved intakes on, or downpipes for that matter, so why would a single turbo be any different? Do the tech's specifically check to see that you have twins? My understanding is they check all smog control equipment, as in airpump, cats, (I thought) egr, etc, and they also do a visual check. Well obviously lots of people aren't too stringent on the visual, so why don't more people have singles?
