hmm so a twin disc is overkill for a GT35R huh? so an exedy hyper single is plenty good enough?

this would save me lots of money too..might even get a new wiring harness....bills are quickly stacking

would you guys consider the ACT S/S good enough for the GT35R turbo kit? It stated the Torque Capacity: 402 ft/lbs. And torque wise, does the GT35R even make that much torque??

That's what I am currently using. It probably have less than 4k miles on it.

The ACT Extreme pressure plate with their full faced disc has been proven to work on single turbo setups at moderate (around 1 bar) boost. The S/S won't hold the power/torque, Ihor had that on his old t3 GT35/40 and it slipped.

I would say it depends on what you plan on doing with the car.
I have almost 500 h/p but 350 torque and i drag race, the ceramic stage 3 rps gets hot and slips so i go a twin disc becouse i like to slip the clutch to help save parts! But on the street the rps worked fine!
And from my experience the twin disc is easy to drive on the street better than the ceramic type which is on or off! If you have the money then the twin is my choice.

A friend of mine, also had the S/S and he also has a single turbo conversion. He told me, the S/S should do fine unless I am tracking the car, but since I am 98% the time street, the S/S should be good enough. And on top of that, even the advertisement stated that it can withstand 402 ft/lbs of torque. If it's not proven, they wouldnt put it down.

Not that I dont trust you. But this should be enough since I dont race my car "alot".

Hey AzEKnightz,
go and get the Knight Sports V-Mount IC and Rad.!!!!
It is gorgeous!

And then take the Air groove Intake for V-Mount by Knight Sports, too.
It has a really large Air filter, beacause normally it is for the twins.
The only thing you have to do, is modifying it and make a custom pipe for your single Setup!

Then you have perfect system cooling, an intercooler right to run 450+ hp (go and get a vented hood!)

And really a perfect system to get cold fresh air into your turbo!

About the clutch:
I have the Ogura Racing twin plate Carbon clutch.
Clutch hasen´t really a large way to slip, but it is easy enough to drive on the street.

As I know... unfortunately , the twin plate clutch I have, ist discontinued.
But maybe the one or other shop has it. Try to look for this clutch. OK to drive and unbeatable numbers.
630Nm and 700hp capable should be fine for you

Greeting Wo : Deep

it's nice, BUT the price is even nicer=(... 4.2k for that... umm I will pass on it. I rather want to fabricate something function just as fine, would be much less than that.... Thank you for your input anyways.

nope, mine is used but pretty new condition.

Also, just purchased the cj-motorsports fuel system (gf) bought it for my birthday (july 5th) =)

And got myself the PowerFC. Currently trying to find the cheapest price, shopping around. And as of for the turbo. I am reconsidering it. GT35R doesn't have the top end I wanted. 500R is too much for the price. And I am now considering the T04Z.

A friend of mine, which also has a single turbo FD. Told me that, the T04Z would not let me down top end and spool wise. Therefore, I can pay 200 more for the T04Z and get better top end and spool just as fast as the GT35R.

And instead of buying a V-mount kit. I am buying the rad and IC separate, and probably fabricate my own V-mount, or maybe even make a kit myself and sell it here with A/C and P/S (if I am intelligent enough).

That's all so far. I will keep everyone updated.

which kit did you ordered? 500R? Man, that kit is a bit expensive for me and I am not using it to its full potential, therefore a T04Z it is =)

Keep us updated with your build too, so will i =)

not the 500R, thats too much power for me, and like you i wouldn't use it to its full potential...haha

went with the GT35R with a 1.0 hotside. planning to run set my boost controller at a 12-15 psi for low boost, then 19-20 for high boost. don't think i'll ever need any more power than that?

i'm still debating on whether i need to get a new engine harness or not...i've taken out a lot of things in the engine bay: ic, rad, ps pump, a/c pump, omp, coolant filler neck, water pump, blah blah and cleaned up the engine bay

also debating on whether to get the remedy water pump or not...they only sell it with that housing and its 425 now as opposed to 225....

Where did you get the GT35R with 1.0 hotside? Did you get it from A-Spec? And if you dont mind, can you pm me their price? It'll be gladly appreciated since I am still debating if I want to go T04Z or GT35R with 1.0 hotside. Either way, I am sticking with either turbos. Let me know

p.s.
If you got rid of all that crap in the engine bay, just cut those connectors and tuck em in the harness itself. Instead of buying yourself a new harness which can cost over 700+ for one. Unless your harness is really bad.... Otherwise it is really not necessary for the extra cost.

PMed...i'm getting it from aspec

Ya i don't think i really have the cash for a new harness...can i just snip all those solenoid connectors? is it really just as easy as that? Some of the coverings for the wires are a bit crispy...i did however buy quite a bit of thermal shielding to rewrap the entire sucker.

just hope the harness isn't whats going to hold me back in the end.

hopefully i'll be ready to install the turbo kit once it arrives, don't have that much time during the week to work on the car at all :/

We'll, if I were you I would make sure I cut all that useless crap and use a heat strink that has waterproof resistance elements to it. The one that i used at work were clear milky white. Once you place it over a wire and heat shrink it, it will shrink and squeeze out some glue material that will water seal the ends and make it water proof and electrical proof. Try looking at some hardware store, you should be able to find something like that and do it to every single connector that you cut off =)

Hope this helps.

Smart move you wont need twin gates all things being equal. I did mention they do offer better boost modulation under certain situations, and can outflow a single design. Keep in mind though a well placed single gate can do all that your twin gates can do with less headache. Same argument we have a about turbo's really. Which is better twins or single? As we all know it will vary as to what works best per application and goal.

All I read is how some kits are 500 hp turbos and they never make 500 hp.
I went with the GR67, which is basically a t04R with some minor mods because through theyears they have always made the HP I expected from a single setup.
Thanks for all the compliments I try and improve and keep a good offering as much as possible. Not perfect, we're tuff on lead times, but we will always stand behind what you paid for.

I'm not sure how you could get solid numbers from a non-customer they need to own the kit to get the numbers I get disappointed at times too believe me, I have a ton of customers out there and they always seems to never get the car finished and dyno'd.

As for numbers, there are no real world numbers, I never give solid numbers to any customer that buys a kit. I wont. Too many things to make a difference. I tell them what potential it has I tell them what to expect, but I wont tell them you are going to make this amount of power if you buy this kit. As for the guy posting all over I have no idea who your referring to unless it's Rich the others that usually do have numbers, some good, some normal.

You'll be happy with Gotham's GR67 it's a proven performer.

Exedy dual clutch unless you plan on making much more power, for a 35R, it isn't really necessary.

Spec stage 3 is nice but will require a good break in. For ACT I love the 6 puck sprung.

35R T4 1.0 is a excellent all around turbo that will not drop off up top. It runs a 1.0 divided T4 housing, spools the same as the T3 1.06 without the feeling of running out of breath above 6500rpm. It will pull till redline. It will definitely spool quicker than the TO4Z if ran side by side.

Most cars on SP motors see in the lower/mid 400whp range at moderate boost levels. Honestly if your not looking to run higher boost levels or don't have a heavily ported motor this or a 3574 would be ideal for you.

what do you consider HEAVILY ported? I am going with agressive street port, would that be just "normal" porting to you or semi heavy? Explain to me please, thanks =)

Heavily ported to me would start at half bridge. LSP motors are good to go in my book for 90% of what street guys need.

and also consider getting some 10.5 plugs if you're running that much power.
Do you have a part number on these 10.5 plugs? I've been hearing about these and I think I may need them.

It might last got a little while with a brand new s/s pp and stock disc.....I do know that ACT changed the disc a bit not too long ago from a completely stock mazda one to a modified full face organic disc. Even so, my prediction is that within 5k miles of use you'll be dropping the tranny to install a different clutch. Those torque ratings are ballpark figures and if you treat them as gospel you'll be disappointed
