This is a greeaat thread being that i am in the same boat...
Now if i may jump in with a question or too...
I have honestly never heard of the 500R but it seems to be a nice unit. Whats it's power range...like PSI wise? And how does it compare to the T78...
I am also trying for a complete street car aka pump and meth one a street port...What clutches are you big single guys running? I plan to do the same as this guy...Track 1-3 times a year and the rest is street driven maybe 3 times a week...
THanks for the help guys!

Im not good with turbos but you need to go with a setup thats not overkill but still runs in the efficency range of your h/p and total mods.
On the clutch if you have the money i would go twin disc as there easier on the street yet work well launching at the track. I went with the stage 3 rps and its not enough so i have the hks twin now. Spending money twice sucks so be sure you know were you want to be before you commete on the parts to get there.

Two major upgrades I hadnt noticed that \i feel are really important, is ceramic coating of the turbine, the exhaust manifold, and the downpipe. Also buy a vented hood, dropping under hood temps is a great safety upgrade, HP should always come last.

I haven't really heard any feed back on this fuel kit but a-spec makes a fuel upgrade kit for the fd for the 500r. At least they did a few months ago. It also includes a dual fuel pump setup if I remember correctly. About the vented hood I like the FEED vented hood. I havent seen any flow reports on it but I like it because it looks stock from the front but it has two vents at the rear toward the windsheild. Awesome setup so far.

The newer 500R's have been redesigned so that they will make more power with better response (SP) or just more power than say your standard TO4Z (HP). they are made specifically to fit to separate goals.
The SP is aimed at giving your best response 450whp+ car without having to run excessively high boost pressure on a small housing. The (HP) is designed for more of the highway or drag race guy. You wont chase down 42R cars, you will have better flow up top over the TO4Z.
Yes we sell fuel kits as well.

i'm also current in your situation heres my list, some i already have and installed, other things might not be necessary to go single, but i'm just doing it as you already have access pretty much everything. things with question marks i'm still unsure of
gt35r kit
IC/RAD (maybe vmount)
exedy twin disc carbon-D clutch/flywhee
re-medy water pump
misc IC hotside piping
turbo blanket
few silicone vacuum caps
some feet in silicone hoses
battery relocation (new batt, 0g wire, batt tray, etc..)
cjmotorsports fuel kit (720cc prim, 1600 sec)
braided clutch line
blow off valve
egt gauge
fuel press gauge?
block off plate kit
OMP block off plate
pulleys (wp, alt, main, ps)
kennebell boostapump?
menthol injection kit (for later on, probably the FJO)
new harness (still debating this)
oil coolers (got the fdnewbie kit)
s/s mesh (cover bumper holes to protect coolers/rad/IC fins)
hi temp zip ties
4g wiring for grounding points
4g ring terminals
exhaust wrapping (wrapping form manifold to exhaust on top of ceramic coating)
graphite gaskets?
copper antiseize
grafinkle tq bar?
motor mounts (already have noltecs)
oil catch can
respeed oil filler neck
feed oil banjo bolt w/ 1/8 npt tap for oil temp gauge
turbo blanket
heat resistant stuff to wrap wires/lines near the turbo
new plugs
coil relocation kit (need longer plug wires)
ceramic coat lim, uim, etc
remove a/c
hks ignition amp
t2 coil
this list makes me sad yet happy? hope this helps somewhat

I am also considering the menthol injection kit. We'll see how it goes. I am still considering the turbo. GT35R or the 500R-SP. Pricing does make a huge difference.

I'd go with the Gotham dual wastegate kit, the aspec 500r makes less power and spools slower. you can ask goodfella (rich). He's got a aspec 500r with 4 inch exhuast and raced a gotham gr67 kit with dual wastegate with 3inch dp and lost bad. Aspec kit also cost a couple hundred more then the gotham gr67 kit with dual wastegate. save yourself the trouble and get a good kit.
pros gotham kit
dual wastegate twin scroll manifold design
spools faster, makes more power, and cheaper!!!

Nothing against Alex, because as you know he and I are good friends. But, facts are facts:
you're very wrong. We were neck and neck, no one 'lost bad.' Also, the car I raced was not using the typical 'GR67' single turbo, it was using a one-off borg warner as I was told.
Get your facts straight before posting smack talk

Rich,
the facts are the BW turbo is actually smaller then the regular off the shelf GR67 kits. with a 3" dp. =o)
I just talked to Alex "he said by a couple of car lengths." Alex is still in town and has offered to race you and video tape it. =o)

Buuuut: Alex wasnt there. Neither were you. I was, and Nick was.
I think Sexy Sasha is heading back to texas tomorrow, but Nick and I can definitely get in a run sometime and videotape it.....keep in mind he's probably on his honeymoon right now

Mr GoodfellaFD3S is the ceramic coating source
As for the fuel system from Rx7store.net
Its almost complete(Ultimate fuel system), very easy to install and not overpriced.
If you are only going with the extreme (Just secondary Rail) you should be more than fine
