Oh fun, fun, fun, this is easy.

Take out the rats nest, and throw it away... or sell it, or whatever.

Remove stock twins, remove all your vac lines... get down to the bare block. This is the best way to start in my opinion =)

Bolt up Turbo Manifold....

Take it one by one...

Vac lines for a single turbo setup are easy... you don't need that many. The rats nest is pretty much gone... you have a few vac lines for boost control, bov, oil vapor, other crap...

Its a pretty simple process, best way is to dig in and learn on your own as many of us have. I am sure someone has a single vac diagram floating around somewhere.

THe Vacum line from the Filler neck to the UIM needs to go.....it was causing too much blow by for me.....BUT MAKE SURE you don't get rid of the Solenoid at the very front of the Nest...the one for the fuel....KEep that one and ditch the rest.

Search the PFC formum for idle and you will find many posts about eliminating the ISC.

BTW, the fuel solenoid is not needed, it can go.

Is there a fuel solenoid? The front solenoid on the rack operates the butterfies in the UIM, no? My car runs modified twins, and when I used block-off plates to eliminate most of the nest , the car ran completely rich. I haven't been able to diagnose the problem, but if there's a solenoid that has something to do with fuel, perhaps I screwed up?

The back solenoid opens the FPR reference side to atmosphere during warm start, it temporarily raises fuel pressure a few psi. If this occurs during boost the fuel pressure will be way low and lean out the motor, that's why I never considered keeping it after pulling the UIM the first time.

That looks amazing! Do you track it at all?
In reference to the solenoids that I left behind, i.e., FPR I agree there is much that can improved upon but I believe in baby steps. Folks that jump in and do EVERYTHING all at once invariably run into some kind of problem. I do plan on going under my UIM again and redo-ing the fuel system with SS lines, an adjustable FPR and 850cc primaries. I have the parts ready it's just a case of finding the time and willpower.

...and apologies for the hijack.

Regards,
Crispy

Crispy , check out what Keith at KG parts did for me. I was hell bent on keeping my engine bay clean. I didnt want the typical red and blue fittings. These enduro finished ones look great.

As for do I track the car, yes but just the 1/4 mile for now. I did one auto cross with MSCW but that was over five years ago. I may try to get this to VIR by the end of the summer but I needs some new "shoes" first.

Looks fantastic...but I like the red fittings I bet that lost cost a pretty penny!
See I'm a tightwad and am always looking to save a buck...I can't afford new parts.
What do you do about emissions these days? No airpump(?) no ACV with that secondary rail...etc etc. You plan on running new lines from the pumps to the filter to the rails too?

Road racing is where it is...trust me
And if you want to find out just how good your car REALLY is...no better place than on a road course.

Crispy
- been burned many a time in the past by some clapped out road racing heap. Not a problem anymore as now I have my own clapped out road racing heap!

You know at first I didnt think of the extra expense, but I think it was worth the final product. I am tossing the old fuel lines and running new ones from the pumps to the filter to the rails. No more pulsation dampener to worry about anymore

I have a shop that will run my Honda on the rollers and slap the sticker on my FD. Its not cheap but I dont mind slipping the tech some cash to look the other way.

Your right about road racing , I guess I am a chicken with the FD right now. Taking my FD to MIR didnt help. I am a huge F1 fan but it was pretty cool doing the 1/4 mile.

Are you still a instructor ? I thought you were at one time

Yes I do instruct but the instructing is taking a back seat for a spell while I do some real road racing
