single question

Alright i have a couple of questions on my fd. Heres my situation, right now the car is not running as i still need to finish up the rebuild. I recently purchased a t04s setup for the car. It has .84 a/r on the hotside and 60-1 compressor wheel. (for more specs check here http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gart0t4w70tu.html ) Also have the exh man., dp, .46mm tial wg with a 9lb spring, bov, boost cont., apexi power fc. I know i need to go though the break in period with no boost.

I have two questions.
First, would it be okay to go ahead and throw the single on, buy a smic or fmic, and run around 9psi on the stock injectors? or would it be best to wait to put it on until i get some 1300s or 1600s. I plan on running around 15-18 when all is said and done but that obviously wont come until i get bigger injectors. Also would it be ok to have this on during the break in period?

Second, what are the parts that i might be missing to do the conversion? Do i need to get a 3 bar map sensor? I think i have all the major parts but im just wondering if there are any hidden parts or things that i might have missed in all of my research.

Thanks for your advice in advance

To my knowledge just as long as you don't drive at WOT (Wide Open Throttle) you should be fine. Or you can have your tuner tunning the PFC at low boost and accordingly to your mods, until the break-in period is done.

What Fuel Pump are you using?

IMO:

if you want to go single, do it right.
slapping a single turbo with out the supporting mods, is stupid.

If you only plan on running 9psi with a single turbo with out the supporting
mods, WHY BOTHER???

do yourself a favor and alot of money:

go ahead and mount your FMIC, to your twins.
as you get your parts, start putting on parts that you can use
with single turbo or your twins. LIke your fuel pump, and injecters.

go ahead and start collecting parts for your single conversion.
When you are done, then do the conversion.

why would anyone want to have a singleturbo FD, that might blow up at anytime
if you step on the gas, or a half completed singleturbo, that would be so slow,
it would embarass the whole RX7 community.

I definitley plan on doing it right im not just going to slap it on, im not an idiot. The only reason i asked is becasue the previous owner of the turbo ran 9 psi on the stock injectors. I was a bit weary of doing this bc i dont want it to be lean.

I know i may be missing a lot of stuff but i do have some things that i forgot to mention. I have the turbo oil feed and return lines, a fpr, block off plates.

I know i still need vaccum lines and 3 bar sensor. What else may i be forgetting other than the little things like o rings and clamps.

Single turbo with all the supporting parts: $8000, 325 WHP

Single turbo with all the supporting parts and tuning: $8500, 400 WHP

Don't forget tuning -- it gives the best bang for the buck, and it will also keep you from blowing the engine. You can also tune it yourself if you know what you are doing, but few people really know what they are doing.
