which single kit?

hey u guys... sorry if this becomes bothersome, but im in the market and looking for a good single turbo kit. I want to be pushing low to mid 10s in the 1/4 mile. Can the GT35R achieve that? I dont want to sacrafice low end torque for high end power. I love taking the turns to much for that I want to be able to spool just as fast if i had twins instead of a larger single. Any single kit ideas? HKS? Greddy? Any info would be appreciated.

You should really check out the single turbo section. Lots of setups posted there.

For what you want to do the T51 is going to be real laggy.

Any turbo will do that. If you are looking for a good mix the XS T04S or T-78 are good choices. Not to small and not to large.

There are alot of other factors when taking a car off the line. Turbo wont play that much of a role.

With this current setup I havent been to the track. 0-60 in 30 secs because it smokes the tires thru the first 3 gears.

35/40 is a good street turbo but runs out of steam up top. T-78 pulls harder IMO.

IMO give Turbonetics a Call...tell them what exactly you want and they well create a compressor map for what you want to do...then build a custom turbo...They downfall is it isn't a kit just turbo alone...price is around 1200 give or take....as for the rest...give jason a call...I am sure he can sell you the additional item Required...The hardest part to all that is.....Trying to find a clamp that fits the turbine housing to the Downpipe...

For what you're looking for you may want to look at A-spec's GT40r kit. Ideally it should get you the power of a T-78 or a bit more but with a bit quicker spool. You might want to check out the threads on that turbo.

It's hard to imagine a car that can launch with good traction (assuming street tires) and run as fast as a 10 second 1/4 mile.

/\ its bigger than the t-78, laggier, more power obviously....
i have the gt35/40R from aspec. bigger than the normal 35/40, (or 35r, whatever you want to call it). so i think its more like the t-78 hp wise, but quicker spool. i'm only running 11psi right now and get it before 4k rpm. that might be a good option also.

no matter what single turbo you get, you can get in the 10s easily. a guy with stock turbos got into the 10s. turbo isnt everything you need a good driver as well, your talking about some fast times here.

t78 is rated for well over 600whp, i dont think thats what you want. you hear lots of power an look to getting that. you need something that has a nice powerband range. meaning something that doesnt spool up at 4k an put your car sideways until you hit 80mph.

i think a t04e(spool up at 3300rpm about), running 15psi is good. unless you just like drag. but for pulling out of turns thats a good turbo.

I feel that the t78 is one of the best street application turbos. Spool up is not bad at all, and the power potential is insane. When drag racing, spool up doesnt really matter anyways, because most people come out of the hole in boost. Traction is gonna be a problem no matter what turbo you run. Everyone told me that my t78 is gonna be too laggy, I take them for a ride and they shut up real quick.
