single and factory motor

i tried a search, could find what im looking for. but its also late... im wanting to know how reliable a single turbo like a to4e is on the stock motor with all supporting mods. is anyone running this combo? ive heard that 2mm apex seals are only good for 300 whp, but also heard that they can withstand alot, just blow easily if any detonation what so ever is experienced. any info is helpful. thanks

rotary's aren't like piston engines.. there aren't much "internals" to upgrade...

3mm apex seals are more like an insurance policy to poor tuning... they are more durable and resistant to detonation... but if u stay on stock 2mm's on a healthy engine... and don't popcorn up and down.. u'll be fine for a To4E...

porting the engine ports is like putting larger cams.. lose bottom end, gain top end... nice but not really neccessary... (no worth opening a perfectly good engine just to port it)

lightened rotors are for better engine response (but most ppl never go that far)

*cliff notes*

as long as u have a healthy engine, with proper supporting mods.. then u'll be fine...

Great combo as a street/track car. I run a To4e 57trim, .84a/r p wheel on stock ports. Regarding fuel, just added a walbro fuel pump and Cartech rising rate regulator. Along with the support, PFC, M2 IC, 3" exhaust with high flow cat. a/f's are 11.5-1 augmented with Aquamist Water Injection.

2mm seals are fine. If the motor is healthy, the mods are there, and the tune is good. the motor will put out 400+ all day long everyday. I have cars running on 5yrs with 400+whp same motor, same turbo, pump gas.

90% of how well the car will run has to do with the tuning. 50% of the single setups we do are on stock motors.

I agree with the statements above, however their is a limit to that. Obviously with you ustilizing a to4e you would be good to go. On the other side of the coin a t-51R would be a bad choice in my opinion, too much lag.

What do you guys think of when a t-51R would come online at, and where it would reach full boost (18lbs) ona stock ported motor.

Yeah real funny, Ha Ha, Feb 01, That doesn't even include 00 before we were offically open. Let's not even get into the work I was doing for years before then. 1) Don't pretend to know how my business is run. Or what "I" am doing. 2)I hardly need to prove anything to you. Funny thing is that is longer than your shop so why are am I even having this conversation with you. Talk all you want. At least your amusing to some people.

You have been open longer than I have? You were buying parts for your 7 from me well before you ever opened up the shop and I opened at the end of 2000. I remember our phone conversations about how you were thinking of opening a shop because there werent any rotary shops in Chicago. Werent you working at a stereo shop before Aspec?

Ah yeah slick, you didn't have your shop till after we were open, internet parts ***** doesn't count as actual shop. I distinctly remember the conversation you had with Steve about how you were now going to open a shop as well. We were sitting in the office we just finilly finished painting. This was in the fall of 01. I was buying parts for a 7 not mine. Made good money on it to. I have never worked at a stereo shop? I was in the graphic arts industry for 14yrs, anybody around me knows this. Where the hell you got stereo shop from is beyond me. But it shows how little you actually know about what goes on hundreds of miles away.
