Sensing BS, need to know if this is possible.

So this guy at a local cruise scene has a cool looking Rx7. The local ricers gossip and say bla blah blah it ran 10.8 and has this and that and 100k into it and blah blah blah.

He has a T66 with a huge IC and probably the basic rx7 single setup. He said he put down 530rwhp on pump gas at like 15-16psi. He also ran 10.8 on drag radials with this setup. Do you think hes bsing?

I asked him to race me and he declined. I got a good 1000lbs on him too. heh.

No way on the 530rw at 15-16 psi and pump gas -more like 430-440 MAX. But.....the T-66 is very capable of 10s with higher boost and good gas.

....it almost sounds like these guys are quoting Steve Kan's numbers....530rw, 10.8 on drag radials...hmmm.

Ahh ****.. I just pushed reset form by accident.. To sum up my former post..

The rx7 was black and yellow. Was really nice looking and well put together. I might as well take this guys word for it. But the company he kept degraded his "word". He may very well be Steve Kan. JK

He was a nice guy, its just that 530rwhp on pump gas is a hard pill to swallow. 10.8 on drag radials on pump gas is even worse. He also said he didnt have a setup for race gas before his 10.8 run so he couldnt run race gas and run a beter time. Somethin weird like that. Oh well, thanks for your help.

Nah, Steve's car is dark red/maroon -but he may have been using his numbers. Anyways, yeah, 530 rw and no tuning for race gas = BS! .....unless its a 3 rotor

this is really weird... I was just thumbing through posts on other forums and came across this one.

I've actually met Steve Kan at his shop in Ft Worth.

Oh, and I also think the guy is BSing... that's way too much HP to be an untuned motor on pump gas.

530rwhp on pump gas at like 15-16psi.

...is complete BS. He might have a car that makes 530 RWHP with a T66 (local guy recently made 497 RWHP with T66) that runs 10.8s with drag radials. But he didn't do it at 16 psi on pump gas.

Thumbs down

That guy is full of ****.

Since he entered the conversation, Steve made 630 rwhp at 26 psi on C16 with a 75 shot.

I *think* so. He's been through so many damn turbo combinations since I've known him, it confuses the hell out of me . The monster he has on his 7 now makes the T-66 look like a stock snail......

Who is this guy? Black and yellow rx7? I'm from mass and I've never seen it around. Ask him who worked on his car and I think you should race him. I think it's BS.

You guys do realize that if the car was bridge ported that 530rwhp is very likely on 15-16psi. You guys remember Soul Assasin's #'s (Red FC feature car).

The intake port is extended laterally towards the outside of the housing, with a thin bridge of material left to make sure the corner seals don't fall into the ports.

You'd know it if his motor was BPed......did his idle sound pretty normal, or did it idle at 1800 rpms and sounded cammy and lumpy?

Sounded normal.... You know whats weird.. He had big *** 18 inch rims on the damn thing.. Rotating mass BAD. Street tires.. I couldnt see how wide they were tho.

he also had a M2(?) intercooler

like that. correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the most powerful rx7s using a different type of intercooler, a true front mount?

That's the intercooler I run and it's just as good (if not better) for making big power. Front Mounts are partially for show......a guy in AL running the same setup I am trapped 125 in the 1/4 on pump gas......

Hope he at least got rid of the wing.

Well, if the car in question is Koch's car he is running a T60-1 and an estimated 433 RWHP at 15 PSI (according to his website).

I thought Koch was trying to sell that car...so who knows. He documented almost $45K into that car.

530 to the ground at 16 psi? If his engine only has 2 rotors, then yes, it's B.S.
