Semi P port

As I am trying to get back to my car build after about 12 years, I find that my original build will not be possible as I will need to open the engine after sitting for so long.

Instead of 400rwhp with a non ported engine, I知 looking to port and target around 550rwhp.

I want quick boost and looking to run about 22 psi max with a build that can handle about 25-27 psi. Of course external parts and fuel system with tune will be the major determine factor for longevity of the engine. AI 50/50 was going to be part of my original build and will be included for this new route.

as I am looking around I came across this video and it seems to make some sense. Is anyone running a semi p port? If so what are you seeing for power, reliability, and drivability on the street?

is this something to do with a street port?

You don't need any port work for 550rwhp, made that many many times the OEM ports. Port work just makes peak power much easier, as its shifts the torque curve to the right( Torque x RPM = HP ).
Personally I would never do a semi pport for anything less than 650rwhp. Technically a lot of places screw up the machine work on semi/full pports so its usually makes the engine a lot less reliable. If the machine work is done properly its still not any more reliable than any other port work, even though it makes more HP per psi. As far as drivability it will have less than a stock port or streetport, as it doesn't like to run in the low load regions( cruise etc) because of the increased overlap.

hotting 550 on factory ports would that create EGT concerns as well as back pressure on concerns? Or is that a result of turbo being used. I have the a spec gt3574 and my plain was 400 to the wheels prior. If I知 not mistaken this turbo is good up to around 550.

Depending upon which A/R you have, and if its a billet wheel or not, it will make anywhere from 525 to 575rwhp. ( quotes are from our TDX61 turbo, which is very similar).

EGT, & EMAP are more of a function of the turbo, boost pressure and RPM.

hearing 525-575 is good to hear.

hearing you state stock ports can achieve high hp is very interesting. I would think a street port of any port for that matter done correctly would be an advantage as the engine breaths better allowing for cooler temps and smoother operation due to flow.

I hoping to get my car up and running this year. I know the engine has to be torn down due to sitting and that痴 why I was leaning to having a port job done.
