S366 billet wheel

Hi, does anyone have experience with the billet wheels available on ebay for Borg Warner?

It's from Aisin Turbo Systems. Just wondering if this is the real deal and ready to bolt on to my current S366 (and run reliably)

There is also another option from Thoroughbred Diesel for their "wicked wheel".

Are either of these real options. It looks like the Thoroughbred company is pretty big with truck people (S366 is a common truck turbo).

Why do you say that? I've never seen much feedback on those wheels especially from rotaries...

My friend just bought an s366 with billet wheel from mike turbo inc. . Shop has been in the business for a long time and does lots of work for drag teams here in puerto rico. Service is top notch and the guys k ow there stuff.! New turbo is getting paired with full race twin scroll manifold. Is a street ported engine and with the last turbo setup made 470whp with 91 oct and some meth injection on top. S366 billet wheel-image-2779376512.jpg S366 billet wheel-image-3555405092.jpg

that's the 11 blade wheel (similar to the Garrets). I haven't seen anyone use it on our cars yet and it would be nice if you could share your findings. I've seen a few threads where people call the Bullseyes marketing bs (diesel forums). The official BW billet Airwerks offerings coming in the form of the 7 blade 'FMW' line which I haven't seen offering any benefit for the boost levels I'd run up to. I would be interested to see what this style wheels does on the 366 that a few people on the forum find lazy and see if there are any benefits sub 25 psi as the GTX seems to flow a lot at lower boost levels.

when i first saw the 64 FMW i drew the same conclusion... the flow seemed to be similar to the cast wheel.

until i looked at the little numbers on the map.

just like the GTX, Big Difference.

Efficiency.

for instance at 20 PSI (2.36 pressure ratios)

cast wheel 60%

FMW 64%

that is about 30 hp.

at 30 psi

cast wheel 58%

FMW 64% w a touch more flow

around 50 hp+

should you wish to compare max flow at 60%, you would need to draw some 60% efficiency lines for the FMW. you would then have a compressor map that would look like the Garrett GT V GTX map. somewhere around 10% more flow at equalized efficiency.

note also how the FMW RPM lines hold up against choke V cast.

as far as the Batmowhatever... my money is on BW OE value Research.

Im running an S366 with the 11 blade billet wheel configuration , I haven't been able to run high boost with it yet, i'm still waiting for dyno time as i just switched to e85. i really think these turbos don't shine until after 20 psi or so.

I have the 64 FMW and hope to have feed back by the end of the month, perhaps the latest by early June.
