Running 2 IC's...?

I was at my mechanics getting my a/c charged and changing my oil while it was on the lift... anyway I mentioned getting an hks or greddy FMIC and trying to figure out how to still make my hood scoop functional in some way,and he said that if I get a FMIC I should still run the stock IC. Will this cause more turbo lag running two IC's? It is reasonable? I know some TT cars do it but for good reason.

i have no clue but i am intersted in it. Seems possible but lag might be a problem. Thar air seem like it would have a long way to go.

I guess it would work if you plumbed them in parallel, but that would make for a rather strange setup. If you plumb them series you will cause a lot of flow restriction.

Plumb in parallel for less restriction (that way, a molecule of air only goes through one or the other IC, rather than both).

But, that is a bad idea in general, and I would definitely not do it.

The engine moumted unit can act as a heater rather than a cooler due to the very high underhood temps.so after cooling in the first you can heat in the second, maybe you can consider converting it to an air to water inter cooler and mount another oil cooler at the front for cooling the water .The MAZDA oil cooler was actually recomended in a book for this (21st CENTUARY PERFORMANCE) ,there is a car on Thhe Hitmans site making 450bhp with this setup , let the hood scoop bring in cool air to keep temps. down.
