An open WG is a good way to keep you off boost. Everytime I got above 5 lbs of boost, my foot would subconsciously back off the gas. It was way TOO loud!

yea i have a t04s with open wastegate. when normal driving i tend not to boost it. its way too loud. i kept it that way for the simplicity of putting it all back together. the car also isnt my daily driver.
its cool to the young and interested, but annoying to the older. when and if i somehow get challenged on the road people get real suprised by the noise and end up missing a shift or bounce off the rev limiter.

I'm sure most of you have seen this already but, since we're talking about open wastegates i figured i would throw it in for anyone who might not have seen it...

So did anybody answer if this actually helped if you dumped it VS plumbing? Other than the "annoying" sound (which i just think is unique), were their any dyno/graphs to prove anything?

anytime you add more "flow" into a system it will have an affect

^depends on how much "space" is left in your exhaust.

if your exhaust is already restrictive...you might see more. If you are running full 5" and a small turbo, I doubt there would be any loss.

its all physics and how well your set-up is built to your application

there is an increase when it is dumped out. i think its more then slight, maybe 10-15whp. as of yet i have not seen any proof. and it does scare the **** out of people its kind of funny i have done a few quick 2nd gear pulls next to someone with the window open, there face is priceless..lol. the open wg did cost me a loud exhaust ticket once though.

yea what dubulup is saying is correct. if you have a 4" or more exhaust i dont think there will be much if any loss. 3" on the other hand there will be some.

At the time...i would be running a Full 4" exhaust, GT35r (or aspec 500R, depends on the availabilty of the 500R at that time) and a Large Streetport...other goodies etc etc. So i'm going with DUMPED
