How much does it run to rebuild a 88 13b turbo II motor... i am on the verge of purchasing one with 90,100 miles and i'm not sure what i need to have saved just in case something happens... the car is in great condition... with leather interior... very nice... clean motor... runs excellent... but after reading so much about other peoples comments (problems) i don't know if the car may last a week or a year....

mazda reman is $2k for the engine with old core

a rebuild ranges from $1k - $6k depending on what parts need replacing

 

Or for the adventurous a Jspec is 800-1200.

 

If everything is fine you can rebuild it yourself through M-comp for $500-700.

Housings drastically raise that price though...

 

Buy a reman from Malloy Mazda and be done with it.
