Rear housing size change and lag

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to know how much effect changing the exhaust housing to a smaller size has on spool time.
My car has a 20b with stock internals and a TA51 ball bearing turbo. The problem I have is that the car dosent come on to boost till around 5000RPM. Since the car is a street car only, I was hoping to start getting boost around the 3000 mark.

So the question I have is.
Does anyone know how bigger affect swapping my 1.22 exhaust housing for a smaller size has. Can it make a big difference? Or will it only be a couple of hundred RPM different? Im trying to decide if its worth having my turbo modified or if I should just get a different turbo like a T04Z?

Thanks

get a 1.01 or 1.05 rear housing and your car will come alive!
