B10EGVs were special order at autozone when i went, but they were able to get them in within a few days. Greddy is currently out of stock on 10s for the next 3-4 weeks, they do have 9s and 11s though.

br10eix are resistor (that's what the "r") means. I didn't have much luck with them. They couldn't take the heat and the porcelain broke off on them. I just went back to the stock BUR9EQ. They're not bad plugs.

The ev's are non resistor plugs and the electrode is made from gold paladium (sp) this is a good high output plug, but don't expect much life out of them as the materials just can't take the heat like iridium or even platinum. Hks also recommends not using them with the twin power, although i never had issues. By far the best plug seems to be the greddy rebadged ngk 7420's.

online. There's been several threads posted with links and prices. Do a search under my name and greddy of greddy plugs should pull up several threads with the right info

r7420 plugs are the best followed closely by R6725-11.5

I've never tried the r6725's, but based on the materials used I doubt the plug life would be anywhere close to the 7420's, spark output would also be lower with the larger electrode. There is really no reason to run the 6725's because the greddy re-badged 7420's cost the same.

I wouldn't cut the 6725's to shortly. Lots of top drag racers have been using that plug for a long time with spectacular results. Kilo, who has the fasted N/A 13b has been using that plug for years along with most of the low 7 second dragsters.

They should switch. Probably shave a full second off those times lol.

In every aspect the 7420's are made better so there is really no reason not to use them over plugs that cost the same. Iridium is 6 times harder, 8 times stronger, and has a melting point 1200 degrees F higher than platinum. Iridium plugs require much less voltage to generate the spark compared to platinum plugs

I'm not sure how long the 7420's have been out,(i think only a couple years) but some people don't like changing what works for them even if the change is beneficial. I was reluctant to switch from paying $5.50 per plug to $29 a plug but I feel confident in my choice after using them.

I'd imagine these guys don't make it a habbit getting stuck in "what works" when they are constantly pushig the envelope of how fast they can push these motors. I'm sure you are right to a degree and the r7420 by all means may be better, who knows, maybe they'll all switch to this plug.

on a completely different note, what ems do you have dudemaaan?

its alright, everythings working I'm just not a tuner so it's sort of slow going with that because there are no microtech tuners anywhere close to me. I thought maybe you had an Mt ecu. I was talking to a tuner in florida and talked to him about water injection pre turbo and the numbers you guys were making, funny to hear him figure it was probably just internet lies. Man, I can tell I'm just going to have to learn to tune on my own.

just save some money and have one of them fly out to you. You're not as unlucky as some of the guys that live in the middle east and are really fcked with out a tuner.

Tuning on your own isn't really that hard to do. And all the ems' are pretty much the same just different layouts that need to be learned. I'm definitely glad i tune myself. I've changed things around probably a dozen times in the past year and a half. If i had to pay someone everytime i needed the tune changed, i'd be flat broke. Not to mention a lot of the so called tuners don't seem to know what they are doing. Lot's of blown motors from so called pro's. If anyone is going to blow up my engine it will be me.

Rofl I hear that I ended up using a tune from rx72c today and man is that tune pretty damn good. Without having to change much I was boosting 17psi no problem I'll do a few things to the map to clean it up but for the most part it seems like a solid base tune. Water injection is definately woking though which is good! It's an ultra conservative tune though, it runs 10:1 afr through boost. Not sure if I'm going to keep it there or if I should go ahead and do mid 10's or low 11's.

I've already had my car to florida, dallas, and my motor apart more times than I can count. I think dudemaaaan has a point. I'm tired of relying on others to blow my motor up, I can do that just fine on my own
