R85 Dyno Numbers?

I know that a couple of people have had the r85 for some time now and I am wondering why the only numbers we have yet are from the guy who made the turbo. I think I have decided to go ahead and single my car and this turbo seems to have great potential but no one is posting numbers. Is this because the cars havent been putting out the numbers expected or is it simply because no one has hit the dyno yet? From my understanding a lot of these have been ordered and a small amount shipped out just wondering if there were any numbers yet. If you dont want to post them I would be happy if someone just pmed me how they did.

Thanks in advance
David Jerome

Not what I was looking for. This turbo was so hyped and I am yet to see one customer dyno this turbo. There have been 3-4 cars come up for sale with this kit and yet no numbers. Just trying to figure out what is going on. I cant let that kind of money go only seeing dyno numbers from the guy who makes the kit. I am in no way saying he has altered the numbers or is lying I am just saying I would like to get some customer feedback other than it has arrived and looks good. I just find it weird that there have been no numbers yet. I know these things take time but if I spent that kind of money I would want to see what I paid for as soon as possible.

My car has the turbo but I'm not tuned. This is mostly because I'm having a few problems with KD and may have to go elsewhere for my tuning even though KD built my engine.

I dont have numbers but at 12lbs. the car has been more than handful. Hopefully I'll be able to work something out soon and get the car tuned for high boost.

My car isn't together yet. Once it is together and tuned, I'll get and post my dyno numbers. However, it has taken so long already, I don't know when that will be. The delays are not related to the turbo kit -- I'm just doing a lot of stuff (engine rebuild, custom IC, rad mount, pipes, etc.) and don't have much time to keep the project moving.

That was allrotor93 and that is the dyno from KG not from his personal car.

Hey Guys, I have recently installed a R85 kit in my 93 rx7. One word.... NASTY!!! Ive tried stock twins, the gt 35/40, have been in a hand full of 78's, Ive never felt anything like it. I dont care what anyone one says, i have it on my car and it was worth every dime. Well, its kinda big, its gotta have lag, right? NOPE, no lag watsoever. Extremley responsive. I never thought id be this satisfied. This turbo is just down right dirty. So, if ur planning to purchase a turbo setup that will fulfill ur needs, think no more because this thing will rip ur head off. dee tuned my car for 15 psi on pump gas and 19.5 on race. I went to the track the first day it opened just before it closed, so i only got 1 run in. I had too much air pressure in my tires, got a crappy launch, and had to start featherin the gas in 3rd because i was spinnin and i still managed a trap speed of 125mph. As far as the dyno goes, i cant wait to get there, its just a little bit tough being in school full time, i havent got a chance to get there, but when i do, ull kno about it. I kno i wont be disappointed because ive felt 400 hp cars and i guarantee mine is around 510-520hp on 19psi. Dee will be tuning my car again in the spring time for 25psi. In other words, full potential isnt even accomplished yet. I just wanna thank demetrios for providing me w/ this turbo and the excellent tune. I aslo wanna say that Jim from JPR Imports is the man because he did all my work as far as porting, fuel, drivetrain, suspension, etc... and thanks to keith from kgparts for great customer service for my parts. So far, i raced my friends kawasaki ninja and left him like he was standing still. While blowing by em, my headlight cover flew off and hit em in the helmet. hahahaha! Also, an 11.20 383stroker camaro, w/ alotta work done.... well, lets put it this way, my girlfriend was in the passenger seat and asked me if they were even on the gas. Ill leave it at that. Well, enough rambling, i just had to say a few things since their were questions concerning the r85 kit. so on that note..... wanna race?

125mph trap speed....you are making about 450 at the flywheel....good job.

no lag? I would love to see a 520rwhp car with no lag. However, I am excited to see the charts and to see some timeslips. i went with a smaller turbo t62-1 in order to preserve response and would love to compare...if even to see how bad of a decision i made...or good.

keep at those projects boys. perhaps one day there will be some kill vids posted.

125mph

125mph in a 2900lb car is 450 rwhp and that is letting off and getting back on again. The car will easilly trap at 129-130mph the way it sits on a clean run with a good launch.

Good job tommy at the track nextime I expect a clean run

Looking forward to getting the TEC3 on your car and turning the boost up.

Art guy what makes you think the 62-1 is smaller? The R85 has almost the same size compressor wheel as the 62-1 the R85 just gives a a large impression cause the housing design.

As for 500rwhp cars with no lag that is no problem matter of fact my race car makes 800rwhp and I dont thing it has much lag at all

The thing that is blurry with Tom is that run was not at 19lb (which is what he said the car was tuned for on race gas), that was his everyday 15psi street settings.
Lets just get that PFC off the car so it can get tuned for some real boost, and wire that Tec3 and bring her back to the track.

Mmmm...R85. That will be my next turbo. Let's see more dyno charts!

BTW: What kind of port work does the car have that KG used for the dyno?
