I'm looking for a boost controller for when I get my 500R. I figure you big single turbo guys may have some experience with these boost controllers.

I plan on running ~25psi high boost and ~14psi low boost. The Blitz controller handles up to 36.75psi and the Profec B all the way up to 43psi so I won't be bottoming out either one. The Blitz has 4 settings as opposed to the profecs 2 settings. The Blitz controller looks like you can get far more info from it too.

Anyone have any experience with the two and have any info they can share?

I've noticed that quite a few people run the Profec any reason why, other than the fact that it can run more boost?

 

profec b is a good controller. my brother uses it on his supra, hits exactly 18lbs every time. no bullshit

 

I had a profec b spec II and sold it . If your going to get a Greddy go with the old Profec B , or the new profec type s.

As for the Blitz SBC ID its as good as the come. I have heard noting but great things about this unit , except the price.

 

I might off a topic, but how about Apexi boost controller ?

 

Profec b2 is dope. Just got to be smart about setting it and know what you are doing. never tried anyothers but had no reason too either.

 

Switching from the Profec B to the SBCID on my 500R setup. I've heard many more good things about it and have had a few issues with my profec that I'm not willing to mess with.

As for the Apexi boost controller. I'm not a huge fan of Apexi electronics.

 

I have heard great things about the blitz. I was going to get it but got a good deal on a HKS evc ez so went with that.

 

I'm switching because I've heard so many good things about the Blitz, and I had an issue with the Spec B resetting itself a few times, it's an issue some people have had some haven't it's frankly something I don't want to mess with. Plus if you get the power meter later it opens more functions for the Blitz.
I've already got the 500R that's what we dyno'd a few weeks back.

 

I use the cheaper Blitz DSBC R which also has the over boost safety feature.
It holds boost the same summer to winter and has 4 boost level settings.

 

theres nothing easier than setting up with the profec. 2 ***** and ure str8.

 

Profec B all the way. I had a $500 HKS evc 5 or whatever. it was the super fancy one with extra screen and all. that thing was a POS, couldnt figure how to get the thing to maintaine boost even with the directions. way to complicated and time consuming to have something do a simple task. I sold it and bought a old school profec B. NO BS, just turn the knowb whil watching the boost guage to set it, and adjust how hard you want it to come in, and your done. You may need ot make slight periodic adjustments once a month or so, but no biggy, great unit.

you need to set it up during temp shifts. But truthfully, its the best out there. It has the simplicity of the boost controller and the sofistication of an EBC.

 

I will be running the Apex kit with my 500R. It can handle 29lbs after the PFC is tuned for more cells and also comes with the 3-bar map sensor that you will need and is plug-n-play. It is a single solenoid, so not as fast and tuneable by rpm as the Blitz but neither are mechanical ones. If you really want something bad *** ...Blitz I-Color, has a full color screen, plays gauges in screensaver mode and a real time air/fuel wide band option!

 

The I-Color is pimp! I may have to go with that!
