Unhappy Precision Turbo

I have had a pt-70 gtq .91 hot side on order for 2 weeks now. i just found out that it will be 2 more weeks before they get the parts for the build. Is there any other turbo that is about the same or does everyone think i should wait it out. I am ready to get on the road. By the way he didnt sound sure about the additional 2 weeks.

Garrett has a huge backorder right now. I have a ton of people waiting for 35R's for quite awhile. Precision and others are stuck waiting as well. Sucks to be a vendor/distributor right now.

it sucks to be a customer right now too. it looks like i will have to bolt the stock twins on to make it to the gap.

Yeah I bought a PT74GTS-H about a month ago and it only took 2 weeks to get the turbo. It was a special order turbo and I got it fairly quickly. Who did you buy it from? Is it directly through Precision or getting it from a dealer? I got mine from this place http://www.theracingstore.com/turbos.html good luck.

Yea, you could just get a Garret T70. The PT turbos are basically just Garrett turbos with a unmarked Holset compressor housing.

Look at my Vbgarage https://www.rx7club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=58067 I don't have it up and running yet hopefully by the end of summer I'll have it runnig but a friend of mine with a steetport 13brew on alcohol has made 680rwhp with this turbo. I'm going to run VP C16 and conservatively shooting for 580rwhp because my friend has made that number on gas and I have his old setup so I should definitely be able to meet that goal. I just want to make it reliable I'll be happy if I can make 400rwhp seeing that my Datsun 1200 is still on stock leaf spings and will be a handful to drive being under 2000lbs with me in it.

With a 1/2 bridge you may want to go with a larger A/R on the hotside.

1/2 bridge's breath alot of air, i'd recomend a 1.15-1.35 you will be able to actualy use more of your topend (im asumeing ur reving to 9k?)

S trim is the turbine wheel size which is larger than both p and q. Ralph at Ground Zero uses a PT70 with an S-trim. He's pushing 650rwhp all street.

Don't know if Precision makes an ar larger than .96 for the PT70 but if they don't, an S-trim turbine wheel with a .96 ar will do just as good if not better than a larger ar q-trim

Precision is having a hell of a time getting turbos out to customers right now. Bigger turbos like the T88 ship out real fast though. Bought a PT91 and a PT101 and got them within a week

Question

so lets go over this. the larger the trim the more lag and the more top end. the smaller the trim the less lag and better mid to low range power. thats the way it looks to me right now. also are you saying that the s trim is bigger that the p and q trim, sizes smallest to largest is p then q then s? ethier im getting really confused or im halr way right.

yeah this turbo will be worth the wait. I am waiting for my setup now aswell and I am looking a another 2 weeks. If I had went with a large port I would have most likely got the same turbo as you. What manifold are you running? Divided or Undivided?
