The Turbonetics T66 you can expect to go 650+RWHP on race gas at 30PSI

While the GT3540 will go 525+RWHP on race gas at 20PSI (from what I have seen the Garrett turbo will nose over after 20PSI)

All depends on what you after in the long run ??? Obviously the Garrett should spool a little faster than the Turbonetics due to the difference in size etc.

I had the exact same question a few weeks ago and then I talked to Shawn at A-spec, who's supplying the GT35/40. I'm going with the Garrett! Positive boost by 2200 RPM and 15psi by 3300!!

He said a guy dynoed 487 RWHP @ 19psi on pump gas. That's what I'm talking about!

I'm getting an aggressive street port and 3mm apex seals with my new build, so I can't wait to see what I put down. Should be another month or so...it's still sitting at Marvel Speed.

Very interesting info there ianewk thanks .............. Well I can tell you that on my setup with a Turbonetics T66, Q trim rear wheel, ceramic ball bearing, turbo ported S4 block with S6 upper intake manifold, pump fuel with methanol enrichment activated in the higher rpm's I am making boost at 2500 rpm and 15 PSI by 3500 rpm. At 5000 rpm I am making 350 rwhp and at 18 PSI my setup is making 500 rwhp. I have since cranked the boost up and have made 600 rwhp on 27 PSI. I guess the main thing that numbers can't answer is the transient response between the turbo's ???

440rwhp @17 psi, stock block pump gas, Starts to make boost at 2200rpm has 15 psi @3000 spike to 18 by 3300. I dont think it will come close to the T66 on the top end but the GT35/40 is a great street turbo. I am impressed with how fast it spools. When I shut the car off I can hear it spinning for another 1-2 min.

ZoomZoom .............. I guess there is also a lot a difference in the seat of the pans feeling between our cars too as my car is an RX3 weighing in at a whopping 2500lb wet with me on board

There's been a change in plans.

After dealing with the drama of who has one, who doesn't, where I can get one, and how long it will take...not to mention who can rebuild it when something goes ping or boom...

...I've decided to go with the Turbonetics dual BB T-66 with all the trimmings (polished inside and out, oil and water injection, ceramic coating, etc).

It should be about a month or so until I get it back from MarvelSpeed, plus break-in time. After that I'll share the numbers. Until then let's just say really fast.
