RE: 6266 vs 6766 --- I would not waste my time with the 6266. On the same day, same dyno, etc.. my buddy's 6766 was less than 150RPM behind my former 6266 with respect to "lag" and power output on the 67 was far superior above 20psi. This is on a Supra, BTW; however, would expect similar results on a rotary application. Unfortunately my DBB 6266 lasted 1200 miles before it started sounding like a tornado siren and PTE was of no help... It's now a $1600 paper weight... PTE reliability on these new turbos is very hit or miss. My buddy's 67 is still going strong, though.

Similar cams, displacement, fuel, etc?

Not 100% apples to apples as there are few variances between the setups, but close enough, IMO, to still be usefully comparable. The differences between the 2 should have actually created a bigger disparity, so in a true back to back comparo the spool difference would've been even closer. Both on VP110, both are stock bottom end, stock head, etc.. Both with 4" downpipe/midpipe, etc..

Key differences:

6266 DBB .84ar divided vs. 6766 JB .81ar open (this alone favors the 6266 spool significantly)

I had stock cams at the time vs. his HKS 264's (stock cams likely favored spool).

I'll see if I can dig up the dyno overlays. The ~150RPM difference was between which hit 300WTQ and 400WTQ sooner.

Both share the same turbine specs, which is the biggest factor in spool. Unless the compressor sizes are wildly different, 2 turbos with the same exhaust wheel are going to be VERY close in my experience. To really have a spool advantage, you'd need to compare a 6262 vs. 6766 -- that 62 wheel is too small, IMO, for a 13B or a 3L piston.

Hellbringer, you've met your 1 post per year quota lol! There's about 5-6 of us FD guys that hang out frequently in Charlotte, PM me if you ever want to chill.

EDIT: My 6266 does sound a little weird after about 2k miles but it's still working well. But it doesn't have the spool that I expected, which could be a result of many variables though.
