Precision 6766 options
I'm building my FD for mostly street with some track days hopefully...Looking to make about 450/500whp with minimal lag. I decided to go with the precision 6766 and was wondering what options you guys would go with.
Right now I'm thinking about going with the T4 divided .84 A/R
the other option would be the T4 divided 1.0 A/R
My other question is should I go with
"Ported H" compressor cover 4.0" inlet/3" outlet
or
"Ported S" compressor cover 4.0" inlet/2.5" outlet
I was leaning more towards the "Ported S" for less lag.
Thanks guys!

Truthfully you should be able to hit your power goals with a PT6265 (or PT6266). I was bumping into the 470whp range with my PT6265 without stressing the turbo too much (staying below 20psi). I was also seeing full boost by about 3,600-3,800rpms.

Pistons are for pussy's
Just like you my car is 100% street with 2 o 3 track days a year, went with PT6766 with 1.00 divided. I have full boost at 3,900rpm. Great turbo, lots high end power.

Is this turbo really ideal for the lower boost levels? I know the piston guys have to ring them to 35+ psi to get into its efficiency range.
lots of us aren't taking these turbos into their efficiency ranges.
if i recall smg944 didn't really start making goodpower to warrant the size of the turbo till 25psi
would it not be better to use a smaller turbo and still make the 500?
correct me of i'm wrong please. i'm still use to the Evo world where we ramp up the boost to 35-40 on stock motors lol

i got a 6266 1.15 a/r 40 miles on it 4sale, i never got to push it barely got into seeing any boost , just once or twice at 10psi, saw full boost at around 3800 rpms just as fendamonky said. great turbo , very responsive for a 62mm, and i still got the warranty card unfilled out thats how much ive barely used it, havent had a chance to even fill the card and send it back. good luck with your choices

My pte6766 cea bb Ported s with .84 divided pump gas on the same setup as gt4094r .85 divided on e85 up to 5 psi untuned bosted slightly better than 4094, on the on off response it was quite better than 4094, how ever didnt get a chance to test it all out, my tuner over boosted to 22 psi stock map sensor pfc blew the engine on 3rd dyno run, I am building a setup with .96 undivided housing
T4 undivided short manifold on pte 6766 should have it ready soon for tuning

You were set for 5psi on a pfc base map and your tuner boosted to 22psi?? So confused by the words you typed... Who is your tuner by chance?

I installed the pfc and dont have the datalogit, the fuel ratio was good to around 5-8 psi and i would back off soon as it started braking up, took it to steve kans dyno to tune he was out of town so a friend of ours had the datalogit and started tuning, the car was boosting very fast on the dyno and human error I gues fented a rotor, so on the street it was very responsive

Different dynos read different numbers, from what I've heard mustang dynos read low compared to others. I have not gone down the quarter to state trap speeds or time, but I will say I played around against my friend's 600whp supra and we were dead even from 60-150...that was with me starting in third instead of second. The car roasts my 285s bf Goodrich kds at 60mph.

The ones I have dynoed( just tuning, not an in house build) have made similar numbers. My experience shows zero reason to run the 6766 below 22/23psi. One is much better off with a 6266 or similar size below those boost pressures. Better response, same power levels, and with a lot less cost...

Dont want to thread jack but I just have a quick question. I have been wanting to try this turbo but havent found a local buyer for my old setup. Other than the billet wheel on the Pte does anyone know what the difference between A-spec 500r turbo and the 6766 CEA BB is? As far as my knowledge goes they are both 67mm turbos. Thanks guys.
