power estimates for my FC

I need a few opinions on my new set up.
87 TII
big streetport w/exhaust porting
62-1
tubular manifold
40mm wastegate
1000cc secondaries
720 primaries
255
RTEK 2.0
FMIC

Anyone running a set up close to this? if so what power numbers are you making? also 1/4 mile times if possible.

You're asking for a lot without any good information.

1.) 1/4 mile depends on how well you can drive, and your power to the wheels, weight, etc etc
2.) Power estimates can widely vary depending on boost level, tune, and fuel setup, etc etc

If i had to guess.. I'd say the turbo is capable of 500hp, but with your fuel setup... you're looking at low 400's. Take the turbo up to 20+ psi, and up your fuel system and you can see 500+ hp. For a good baseline I'd say 400hp at 13psi. But thats just a guess...

As for quarter mile.. with that power considering the stock weight.. AND if you can drive.. you'd say 11's.

I had a friend with an FD, T04 turbo... 413hp or something.. he ran 11's all day on drag radials.

Thumbs up

boost level around 20 psi. Weight is around 2500. Do you think the injectors will supply enough fuel?

2500lbs, and that turbo at 20psi should get you into high 10's, low 11's. If you can drive...

You're going to want to go larger on the injectors... AT LEAST 1300cc, but I'd go 1600cc.

The 720/1000cc combo is going to top out around 22-23psi, but 20psi would be your maximum safe level.

you figure 470hp (conservatively) at 2500lbs... thats a pretty good 1/4 mile... at least your trap speeds will be pretty nice.

He's going to run out of fuel before 400whp. My guesstimates for his set up will be 420 whp @ 15 psi (which he'll blow up before reaching till he upgrades that fuel system) and 480@20 psi. 720's for primaries is fine, if your shooting for 400 and over power wise, you'll need 1600cc injectors for secondaries and a GOOD PUMP. One Walbro tends to die out after 400 whp, so either run the Denso, Bosch 044 or other high output pumps with dedicated power to it.

A lot of Fc's run high to mid 11's having 400whp. Its theoretically to run fatser, but I'm trying to be realistic. It takes a good driver and at least drag radials to get in the mid 11's.

Doesn't that Rtek 2.0 only allow a fuel correction of plus or minus 15or20% maximum? You'll be able to get alot more fuel at the same pulse widths with larger injectors then the 720's it was meant to be used with but you may have a hard time tuning the staging transition etc.Just a guess.

I agree with the lack of fuel system here. I would up it to 850cc primary and 1600cc secondary. You might even want to think about putting another 255 in-tank. That system would give you enough fuel for over 500whp. And I'm curious as to why you chose to go with the RTek over a full stand alone EMS. I'm not knocking you, but I would like to know what lead you that way. Other than that, things are looking good for you.

I appreciate all the info guys. I decided upon the RTEK for the price. im on a budget of around 3K now. i picked up my 62-1 for 150$ in need of a rebuild. Im also making my own manifold using one of the cheap one's off of ebay as my stencil to go by. im gonna be using thicker piping and use some extra bracings. im dropping off my housings this week to have porting started and i was quoted 200$ for the full intake and exhaust porting. I was thinking 720's as primaries because i plan on driving the car on the street occasionally and i dont want to absolutely kill the low RPM gas milage. since the RTEK has the secondary window setting from as low as 2400, i was just planning on setting the secondaries to turn on at a somewhat low RPM. The more i think about what you all are saying though, im thinking about returning my 1000cc's and going to the 1600's but, im just wondering what the ECU is gonna think of that. Oh, well, bigger primaries and just set the secondaries at a little higher window? About the fuel pump- are you all saying that the walbro brand 255 isnt enough, or that a 255 itself is not enough? i think thats all my questions and comments for the night. KEEP EM COMIN! I APPRECIATE ANY/ALL input!

He's saying the walbro brand 255lph isn't going to flow enough. Try the Denso pump, also called the Supra TT Pump.
