When I turned the boost up to 32psi, the tranny got worse with getting out of gear, but that bitch pulled like a freight train! I gained 40mph between the 1/8mile and the 1/4. Can't wait to get my PPG back!
Instead of double clutching, why didnt you justs shift at an earlier rpm in 2nd? Even if you shift at say 7500, at least your not gonna lose much boost as you do with double clutching. Also, the power differential between 7500 and 9000 rpms isnt all that great, and with stock gearing in second gear you would pretty much think it was useless. Give it a try, it may yield some good results. Congrats on the power, and ET, both of which are very impressive. Cant wait to see the next update

Nice times Ernie! How many runs did you get? At that boost, does your car go down the track perfectly straight or does it pull in anyway? Also, how does the boost recover betwen gears, especially between 3rd and 4th. I thought you had the 76mm front, not the 72.

Post the slip and some vids!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Anthony. I was wrong on my turbo compressor. Its actually a 74.5mm
I got 3 runs. The first was a 10.20@141mph(coudn't get out of 2nd without double clutching), then 2nd pass was a 10.60 @142mph(couldn't get out of 2nd gear again), and the third I didn't even try after I almost red light, taking my foot off the gas (semi-finals) then the light dropped. At that point I wasn't even on the gas so the race was basically over.

Congrats on that pass, you will need your NHRA license soon,By the way what plugs did you use when u made 700+, 9,10,11.5? You have a nice powerband without any break ups.

Looking good....9's are around the corner:-)
Crank up the boost !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~114mph on the 1/8th sounds about normal for a car trapping ~140's.

What did the time slip look like when you gained 40mph from 1/8th to 1/4?

JD

I trapped 97mph in the 1/8 and 141mph in the 1/4 with about 1 second delay in my 2nd to 3rd shift.

Most guys run stock rims at the strip. Light, wide, with some slicks on there you're golden

Joe, it takes a lot more than just money, although that's a good starting point

Ernie,

What clutch/pressure plate are you running? Steel?

Rice has some interesting things to say about metaltalic, ceramic, and carbon materials. Your comment about not getting out of second and Rice's experience with heat related expansion seem to be linked. So am linking you to Howard's thread that Rice posted his testing results on:

When you get the car dialed in and the temps drop it will yield be one fast **** and the mph will be nutty. That car is flyin' even with problems.

What does it weigh with driver?

I actually want to see how fast I can go with the stock tranny and then throw the PPG back in for a direct comparison. That way I can see what the different gear ratios do in the PPG...better or worse...not sure.
