Performance B/w To4e & To4s Kits

Can anyone help me make a choice on either the TO4E or S kit.
street driven. Any dyno charts out there to help. How much lag diffeence is there b/w the two. I want 400 rwhp. Also what is the best injector setup to use? RP tells me 4 850 is fine. Everyone else tells me to get more fuel.

your best bet is to call xs engineering or go to their website..they have dyno graphs of those 2 turbos

Web site shows liittle lag on the T04e kit and 400rwhp is makeable. I have that kit and Dave at KDR likes it. He recommends 1200cc secondary injectors.

I made 406rwhp on the T04S kit... then I found out what happens when you put pump gas in a 400+hp car that is street driven... boom... then the sound of a seal missing on your front rotor... I wouldn't advise it. If its a street car keep your power down to prevent damage. T04E might have been a better choice... **** happens.

Hey Troy,
I've got some print outs of dyno sheets but I think they are ported motors. The T04E looks much more streetable. I think there are dyno charts for both on the XS Engineering web site, the T04E shows 410 rwhp that I believe is on 15 psi. Are you planning to go Power FC or Haltech.

From RP's fuel calculator, 4x850 will support 436 flywheel HP. When I told Pineapple I wanted 400-450rwhp, he said you need about 3700cc total so 2x550 and 2x1300, on the RP calculator this shows good for 475 flywheel HP. These calculations are based on 85% duty cycle.

One of the guy's from the New Orleans Rx7 club order the T04E a few weeks ago so we can see how this goes. Finally get my motor out next week to Pineapple. We need to plan another meeting soon, Mardi Gras is a great time for street racing since the cops are so busy.

I have a TO4s and a haltech in my FC, tuned by XS, making around 400 rwhp on pump gas. It is my street car, the motor has been fine... btw it is ported. 550cc primaries, 1600cc secondaries.

I'd just like to ask, did XS map your PFC when the engine blew? I'd expect that whoever did would have have mapped it for the pump gas.

I'm concerned because I have an XS TO4E kit to install with an XS mapped PFC as part of the package to run on pump gas.

RP has done enough single turbo cars to offer good advice, but it never hurts to do some more research...

Wonderland: 400+ hp on Los Angeles' 91 octane pump gas is more than possible. It's an everyday reality. We have quite a few customers out there making 400+ hp on pump gas with stock motors. I think it may have been a tuning issue, a weak engine, or maybe even a bad batch of gas in your case.

TROYRUSSO: You probably want to figure out what your hp goals are when choosing between the T04E and the T04S. Both turbo kits are very streetable, but the word "streetable" is a relative term. Alot of people believe T78s are streetable, and they are to a degree, but the next guy may not think so. If you're going to drive the car purely on the street and 400-420hp (ported engine) is plenty for you, then the T04E is probably the choice for you. If you want to go to the track once in a while and you want to make 450+ hp (ported engine), then the T04S is for you. The T04S is still very streetable. For example, if you're cruising in 5th gear and you want to pass a car, no problem, just hit the gas. No downshifting of 2 gears to get the car going like other larger turbos. However, if you're looking for 500+ hp, then you might want to consider the T88 and T51 turbochargers. People who own these kits "swear" their cars are streetable and engine response isn't bad. LOL, perhaps in 1st gear. At the same time, if you don't mind waiting for the big power, these larger turbos will do just that: make you wait. For pure drag, boneville, highway racing, these turbos are optimum.

I've posted T04E vs. T04S dyno charts in the past, but PM me if you want these dynosheets.

I have a ported motor running a T04E that put out 393 rwhp on pump gas at 14 psi of boost. This was with the motor barely broken in and a cat in place. The motor now seems to run stronger.

I have an appointment with X S Engineering next Tuesday. We shall see what we run at that point.

regards
