i too would like to know this answer,
is there anything pumping the water from the tank to the pump or is the pump sucking it through?
u might have to test it before u fully install it to see if it does spray the water if the pumps above the tank

I know from speaking with an aquamist master tech over in the UK, that with their pumps they recommend a gravity feed (pump lower than tank). It looks like you have a cooling mist setup, why not get in touch and see what they recommend?

oh thanks guys for the help. Didn't see you guys posted. well on thier instructions it says it's recommended if the pump is placed below the tank if possible so it kinda sounds to me that it would work either way no?

I'd venture to say put it below the tank.

I put the pump on the center hump (under bins) and the tank in the storage bin behind drivers seat. I have a cooling mist system also.
PM me if I can be of assistance.

Good Luck

Just a "generic observation", but aren't most water pumps better "pushers" than "pullers" ?
i.e. it's easier to push water through a hose than it is to pull it.

We're talking about a very small column of water here (and a very short hose), so maybe it doesn't really matter in this case... Just thinking out loud really, but I'd think the same principles apply even on a small scale.

if you have the option having it gravity fed could only be a benifit and never a negitive thing, so I wouldn't risk it and just put it below the tank.

I have my pump at the same height as the tank with no problem at all. The pump seems to self prime.

Scott
p.s if you are running alch's you may want to vent the tank to the atmosphere but not to the interior of the car.

thanks guys, I've desided to just leave it there for now to see how it runs like that. I did vent the tank to the atmosphere so I should have no problem there. I do have a question though. If I desided to run denatured alky would I need to get another tank? I'm thinking about running straight denatured and not a 50/50 mix. There seems to be plenty of people running straight setups with the stock tank that comes with the system

Im unsure what you mean by denature. If you mean somthing like methanol of ethanol etc the tank is fine.

ok cool thanks, I'm going to run it to just see what happens. would rather go all out then just half and half if you know what I'm saying. Anyways yeah denatured alky is like 97% ethanol witch can be had at any home depot or the like from what I've heard.
