oil pressure w/ single turbo

after the car is warmed up, what should my oil pressure be at idle, at say 800 rpm?

also, maybe it is the gauge, but if i get on it, is it normal for the pressure gauge to wiggle back and forth a bit at higher rpm on full boost? i dunno if the oil pickup isn't getting enough oil, or if it is just surging or what... anyway thats reading with a defi unit, pressure from the oil pedestal. i've got the aspec oil pan, and twin 25 row mocal coolers. car seems to run fine.

other than that, check the 3rd gen section if you are an electrical whiz, cause i'm having problems with my interior lights as well.

don't mean oil pressure for the turbo, i mean for the whole motor. searching didn't really find me anything.

normal readings, as oil pressure will climb to ~120 psi but then it will waver and dip down... sometimes to 80-100 psi...

also just wondering what pressure should be at idle when warm, as i'm getting about ~40 or so at ~800rpm

Lol wow it probably took you longer to post the search icon than just answering the guys question. Way to be helpful!

Good luck Harrison.

Yeah Railgun69, you seem to be posting that pic an aweful lot with no useful info. It's not like Harrison is a ******* newbee to this ****. Harrison, you're getting plenty of oil pressure. 40psi at idle, and I take it 80-120psi at full throttle. Those are good numbers, you're getting more then enough oil pressure, just as long as it doesn't dip really bad from 120-60 at WOT.

And no, I've got posting that WITH an answer down to a science.

The hell do you think that button it there for, my health?

He may not be a newbie, but a question like that you KNOW has been answered before...oh lookie here...it HAS. You on the other hand apparently DON'T know that.

Thanks for playing, better luck next time.

Damn man, calm down!

I don't think it's evident to most people that you were actually being "stealth" helpful.

Maybe next time, for the internet savvy folks, you could add "CLICK HERE"!!!

That would be for the internet unsavvy folks I think.

Just get a little jumpy people think they've got it all figured out.

I posted that thing ONCE with questionable results and they think I need to be crucified because of it.

isnt it simple enough to answer the question?

if you know the answer why not just spread the little knowledge that you know instead of trying to increase your post count by putting that "search"

anyways... the light fluctuation sounds similar to when my engine's oil pump wasnt sealing properly. the teflon washer was not properly installed on the front cover

Whoa there, I didn't want to start a flame war. I didn't scroll my mouse over the picture, so I didn't realize you had linked it to a thread. My bad.
