new to the tII

i had a n/a but blew it up. now i got a 88 tII with 21k on da rebuild the guy i got it from had a time slip and was 13.8 in da 1/4 wit 5 pounds of boost. and said i need a intercooler to go any higher boost. my question is has anybody tryed puting a aftermarket top mount intercooler like from da wrx's. wouldnt that have less piping for quiker spool and with the hood add cooler air. or is it jus better for the front mount.

5psi and u need a new intercooler for more boost? u can run 12psi safely with some secondary injectors and a Rtek1.7...

Alot of people run higher than 5lbs on THE top mount intercooler, I'd say a fmic is THE way to go if your going to change from stock though

sorry forgot about the banks turbo <race> streetport full exaust and intake thats y he told me only to run 5 lbs safetly. does that make a difference
