New old T04 and I'm clueless

Ok, a friend of a friend dropped off a turbo the other night. It's a T04 from what I've been told and from the diagrams I've seen. That's about all I know. I don't know what size it is on the exhaust side and on the compressor housing it says Roto-Master. AR/60. I think i just saw on the exhaust end A/R .96. The spot where it should say stuff is all pitted out. It's been freshly rebuilt but looks like it maybe wasn't cleaned perfectly. I should have pictures up fairly soon.

I'm REALY curious what this turbo will mean for my 12a project. I'm getting the feeling this is a really big turbo for my engine and I want to know what I'm getting myself into.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andy

Andy,

a .96 A/r on the exhaust housing is generally considered a good size for a 13bt if it has a "P" or "Q" trim wheel, that being said without some porting on the 12a, its probably going to be laggy.

the compressor side is important also, you need to pull the front cover off, and measure the fattest part of the blades (major) or (exducer), and the smaller area (minor, or inducer) then compare this against a chart to find out what size wheel you have. if its smaller than a "54" trim compressor wheel (for a 12a), I would sell it on ebay. if its a "57" trim or larger then you are good to go.
