New Holset. 38mm WG large enough?

Whats up guys, I just picked up a rebuilt 7 blade HX35 and was wondering how big I should go with the wastegate. I dont want to buy a 50mm if I dont have to. Heres the car specs.

S4 Turbo II
Streetport
3" intake/exhaust
FMIC
Rtek 1.8 4x720cc injectors

Ill be buying a haltech this winter. My goal is around 350whp.

I know these turbos are run at higher boost levels in the Dodge Rams but im hoping to keep it around 12-15 psi. Ive also heard that the HX/HY series tend to over run wastegates rather quickly. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Maybe if you run two. The smaller the gate the higher the boost! Screw what people say about those manifolds that one comes with a high quality guarantee!!

and some cool adapters. Sweet.

You should just buy a better quality used one with a wastegate off the forum, if you're patient

My question was about a wastegate. I already know that everyone hates cheap ebay manifolds. I already have my block, turbo, and downpipe flanges made for custom mani. I may buy that because its cheap and saves time. See..............

Now about that 38mm wastegate.................

IMO. Turbos to small for even a stock ported rotary.

I've run a xs-power manifold for 4years now, with over 500rwhp and on trackdays over 1000c EGT's, still runs like a champ! no turbo-support, no flex joints on the exhaust. no cracks.

i may have been lucky, but it has thick walls and just holds on. its wrapped to. so they are not all bad!

ebay turbos and manifolds are just luck of the draw. From my experience, ebay turbos last longer than ebay manifolds though. That particular manifold is a knockoff of the old discontinued HKS log manifold for the FC.

A 38mm gate might work but I would get at least a 14-15psi spring, maybe even stiffer than that. Boost creep is guaranteed on a 10psi spring. There's no way it will flow enough for that.
