New HKS T04R turbo kit
Most of us when considering single turbos weigh the factors of power and response, usually making a compromise on one or the other. I have some inside info on a new turbo kit for the 3rd gen that in my opinion makes the best compromise.
They are releasing a kit using the T04R with a clipped turbine wheel and .81 housing. The T04R compressor is proprietary to HKS. It also uses a tubular stainless steel manifold with their 50mm wastegate. Of course all needed components are included.
I know a lot of people consider making a kit like this themselves, so this might save some time and effort. Wish I didn't already have so much invested in my RX6 kit.

The HKS T04-R turbo is a 70-1 turbo. Basically it's a 60-1 that's been modified to hold the T-70 compressor wheel using the standard Garrett big shaft, clipped turbine wheel.
I've seen many versions of that turbo from different suppliers using the 63,64,66 and 70mm compressor wheels. Turbonetics's version of that turbo is called the 68-1.
BTW. I made 478RWHP at 20psi with that turbo on a street ported TII motor!
crispeed
87TII FC
9.20@150mph 1/4
5.91@119mph 1/4
1.32 60ft
2600lbs

I have a garrett version of a T72 with a Q trim rear and 1.22 divided housing and it comes on around 4500+. This is a BIG turbo, too big in fact and I am coming down a size or 2 in exhaust housing.
A 0.81 rear would sppol up fairly quickly no matter what its on

looks like the border twin kit to me..im guessing around $6K
but it has internal wastegates..so that could make it a bit cheaper.
Then again..its from a company that doesnt have any North American office...
It looks pretty nice, but im personally still not convinced of two turbo's being better than a single that flows the same.
For example I don't think the gt2835's supra setup from HKS has a much better power curve than a single set out for the same HP goals (especially w/regards to price differences)
But they sure do look neat
