i saw a vid of your 1/4mile run of your car lupe...how come your trap is so low? Did u have boost the down?
nice numbers btw!

GtoRx7 02-11-06 08:59 PM

I keep getting more amazed at a 100% factory parts 13B handling power like that!!

People have been saying it for years.
Stock is best! well, to the point where it was cost prohibitive for mazda to make it.

Lupe, told me that he let off before the end of the 1/4 mile and that he expects the new power to trap 143mph+. It should be impressive my guess is mid to high 130's we'll see though.

Japtrix Racing would trap 148mph in their old TII with the same power in a heavier car with independent rear suspension. Lupe shouldn't have a problem traping 143+.

Lupe have to trap higher than 143mph. :)
Yes Joey(Japtrix) did trap those speeds in a heavier car.
I've trapped 142 mph at 2600lbs with only 580rwhp and over 150mph with 650rwhp also at 2600lbs.

he should be over 143, mathematicaly.

Jasil 02-13-06 02:49 PM

Dyno's are just dynoes power is in the track times, so we'll see soon enough. I hope you trap 150mph!!

def agree with that one. not referring to lupe but i dont beleive the numebrs till i see a trap speed to back it up.

LUPE 02-13-06 04:11 PM

I agree, we'll see what it traps.

I'm going to put the car on a diet again so, I'll be even lighter when I race this spring.

Do you notice that you lose some streetablity when you are removing many items? Maybe like increased cabin noise or harsher ride?

The ride is the same, considering that my exhaust exits in front of my passenger door, it's loud :rlaugh:

u did a great job losing some weight. Care to share some of your tricks?

gnx7 02-13-06 06:00 PM

nice numbers... can't wait to see what it'll run with you keeping your foot in it.

I still am amazed at that weight. The interior plastic doesn't weigh much at all. I could see 2450lbs.... but that 2300lbs sounds awfully light.

Did you weigh it with no fuel in the tank?

KaoticFdR1 02-13-06 06:22 PM

Don't doubt the weight.....its legit...there is further discussion on his weight savings....its not just plastics and minor things.

My tank was a little over half full of gas.

I have the weigh-in on video, waiting on my buddy to upload it so I can show everyone.

Try your car on a different scale because it would be damn near impossible to hit that weight in your car...You have a roll cage dont you? There is a local guy that has shreded ever last possible pound off his SCCA race car and his car "weighs in at just over 2,600 lbs"

This was the 4th time it's been weighed. Eat your heart out sissy.

bcool 02-14-06 11:42 PM

On the same scale?
