NEW DYNO NUMBERS ***603 whp @27psi Uncorrected***

Steve Kan tuned my car this morning. We tried to turn the boost up to 30+ psi but my Hallman boost controller wouldn't go any higher :(

This was done on a Dyna Pac dyno.

603 whp @ 27.5 psi. 500 rwtq.

I also weight the car on the scales today and it weighed in at 2,296 lbs.

PDViper77 02-04-06 09:17 PM

Nice, #s Eric

red fd3g 02-04-06 09:22 PM

wow sounds good now upgrade your boost controller and make some big power do you have any pic's of you setup

ErnieT 02-04-06 09:24 PM

Congrats, ya got a dyno sheet? :)
And at only 2300lbs, your ass should run a 9.60 easy.

BNA_ELLIS 02-04-06 09:39 PM

Nice one. Is that 603 at the hubs or is that calculated rwhp from the hub readings ?

cripsR6 02-04-06 10:03 PM

Unreal! I'm glad nothing blew up or broke.

Yes, I have a dyno sheet. I'll have to scan it tommorow.

I might be able to click off a 12.90 on race gas. :molepoke:

Calculated whp, the dynapac dynos are known to read between 5-10% lower so take that how you want :)

iceman4357 02-04-06 10:26 PM

awesome numbers, cant wait to see it run

Turbo II FC 02-04-06 10:37 PM

Im assuming this is with a T51 Kai correct?

AZ'sFastFD3S 02-04-06 10:38 PM

IS your motor dowell pinned? What is done to your motor to support those #'s.

RX794 02-04-06 11:01 PM

You don't need dowel pinning to support those #'s, just proper clearancing and tuning.

LUPE 02-04-06 11:04 PM

I run a HKS T51R KAI.

My motor is stock except some intake porting.

patriick 02-04-06 11:38 PM

Congrats, those HP/TQ numbers are very impressive. Even more impressive to me is the weight. I'd really like to hear about what it took to hit 2296lbs.

BNA_ELLIS 02-04-06 11:52 PM

Nevermind the dyno sheet I wanna see the video and hear that thing spool.
How was the drive home afterwards? have you managed to stop grinning yet

PDViper77 02-05-06 12:00 AM

Eric, Post those videos!!!

87GTR 02-05-06 12:04 AM

wow sweet nice numbers

Naegleria_Fowleri 02-05-06 12:29 AM

I also want to know what it took to make your car that light. That's insane. How often do you drive this thing on the street?

Congrats Eric.
I like your glowing red neon turbo lite!:)
I've hold it for a couple of minutes at full power and seen the mid pipe glowing red also:)
Damm that shit is light. Should do some good #'s at the track.

Congrats Eric!!! Nice #'s! I really really really like the look of your car....i mean really really like :) Now you just need to put a good auto behind that biotch and go beat the hell outta some Supra's. With as light as you are it shouldn't be a problem with the auto. I'm hoping to be somewhere in the ballpark of your power ;) and weight.

u heard him, stock with some intake porting!..., maybe u should urs up to 27.5 psi, u dont think u cud breach the 600 barrier with 5 more psi?

which vacuum are you running ur psi from the boost controller off of. maybe u have a boost leak or pressure drop of 2.5 psi!

so the wastegate is reading the pressure right off the turbo, and so it opens before u want it to just a tad. Technically wouldnt u want the wastegate to open based on how much pressure the manifold is seeing right since thats whats goin into the motor and theres no way it wud leak any psi once its already in there. im probably wrong, since u are alreayd close to already almost maxing out the turbo right? so it wud end up blowing hot air when the manifold sees 30 psi cause the turbo could be blowing more then that.

I noticed when i switched my line going from the turbo (thanks to dubulup for clarifing my theory, and i trust what he thinks) to the manifold, i started boosting 9 psi! so that whole time i thot i had a 5-6 psi spring in there, i was wrong. it turns out i had a 10, and i just bought a 10 from hks, so good thing i didnt install it yet and tried that first, cause that saved me 50 bux. I sent it back and got a 1 bar spring. waiting til iget a wideband o2 to drop in the 14ner. Im pretty sure my leak is comin from the bov even tho i replaced the o-ring still.

i dunno its late im just jabering on

On some of the 570whp pulls, it was tuned at 12.8 :rlaugh: That's when it was glowing the most.

Last pull 603whp it's right at 11.7 afr. :)

We wouldn't know. We don't have a DYNO SHEET to look at!! I think you made 503rwhp :)

Hey thanks, I have no option other than switching to a auto :icon_tup:

I'm light but I still have radio/door panels, carpet, headliner, dash, power windows and locks.

I'll post some more neat pictures and videos taken from yesterday.

We're going back to the dyno today (More cars to tune). I'm going to post the sheet from there. I'll just have him cut me a disk so I can post it up. No corrections factors or bs like last time. :wallbash:

The spring in my boost controller was too soft. We tried using a spring some a transmission and it was just too soft. Boost shot up to 35-37psi 5-6 times.

We then took the spring that came in the boost controller and stretched the hell out of it and even made a spacer for it so I can could get a few more psi. We were desperate.

Judge Ito 02-05-06 08:28 AM

congrats

LUPE 02-05-06 09:36 AM

Going back to the dyno now,

hopefully this won't be locked down before I get back

GoodfellaFD3S 02-05-06 09:52 AM

Very nice #s, that is a boatload of hp.

I'd be curious to see what you make on a dynojet----my sig #s were on a dynapac as well, so I wondering about the correction factor.

All that does not matter. That's just for bragging rights.
The only # that matters is the one at the end of the 1/4. :)

XSTransAm 02-05-06 01:22 PM

nice numbers! and yeah post up the dyno :)

BoostedRex 02-05-06 01:38 PM

Congrats Eric! Glad to see such great numbers. Are you guys putting your car back on the dyno today? Can't wait to see your dyno sheets and videos.

Zach

dhahlen 02-05-06 02:07 PM

Hey Eric, when/if you sell that mani and turbo... I got dibs if someone else already hasn't asked for it.

=)

LUPE 02-05-06 04:41 PM

You're exactly right but numbers are always fun to toss around.... :suitdance :icon16:

PhatManBUD 02-05-06 05:22 PM

i think those numbers do matter cause if ur not at a drag strip, and from a roll with that hp and weight its hands down you win!

PhatManBUD 02-05-06 05:29 PM

and yes, why dont u share what u did to get the weight down that low, its secret information that shudnt be kept from other 7 owners! nothing u need to worry about, we all must help each other with advice to defeat other cars. that way the 7 will never lose!

IAN 02-05-06 08:53 PM

Congrats!

I remember seeing your car at the rotary revolution. Nice! Spool sounded awesome. Must be fun to drive :)

RotorJoe 02-05-06 10:57 PM

:bigthumb:

Congrats, Nice pictures and very nice numbers.

Would you want to street port that thing some time? I would like to see the jump in dyno numbers with street porting at those boost levels.
