The best would be to build a new 4" exhaust or atleast a 4" downpipe.

87GTR, I am buying the same turbo , its like a cross between a t61 and an HKS T51 on the exhaust side..
Here are the specs
Comp inducer 2.42
exducer 3.44

Turbin inducer 3.14
exducer 2.789
They come in 1.15,1.38 and 1.51 a/r's

They do not use a T4 bolt pattern, and they won't bolt onto a standard T series manifold unless the holes on the turbo flange are touched with an end mill and ovalled, the t series patter is approx 1/2 narrower.
My T04E 57 trim used a v band adapter, the inside ID of the To4e and the s300 are pretty close, so I am having the s300 exhaust flange machined down to the same OD a profile as the T04e so the downpipe and clamp I already have will fit..
If you chose to build a new 4" setup, the OEM use for this turbo is on Cummins L-10 engines, the clamp and the exhaust flange are available from Donaldson..Max

Use a 3" to 4" Transition. Not a megaphone. Burns sells them also.

Just curious why you would say to use a transition instead of a megaphone? According to a Garrett turbo engineer, the optimal angle when going from a larger to smaller pipe is between 7 and 12 degrees to prevent flow separation. I would assume the same is true for decreasing pipe diameter. The megaphones fall in this catagory, but the transitions are 14 or 30 degrees. Seems to me that more gradual would be better unless you are space limited.

Well the reason i would use a transition was because one it does come in 7 degree angles. And two because you could get it in 16 gauge which is a must for a downpipe. Those megaphones you see listed from burns are actually made by Megs. There very thin stainless steel and they wouldn't last to long as a downpipe.

If you can't get them thru Burn's call SPD.

If it were me i would run a 4" downpipe rather then going smaller.

My old DP used a 3-4 inch taper. I'm not sure where they were purchased.
